I am still reeling at the fact Canadians gave this man a majority government. Although no one is truly wrong, it would look like people on the opposite side of the spectrum are wrong because they think differently than you do. If you are referring to the CHRC you are taking a very complex problem facing all Canadians and a serious threat to democracy and free speech, and twisting it to make it look like an attack on women's rights. Nobody has taken the ability for women to fight pay discrimination away, we have an excellent legal system in Canada, that's what the courts are for. The CRHC is unnecessary and often bigoted. If you take the time to get a non-partisan education on the matter, you will find the truth.

On October 12, 2007, former Liberal Cabinet Minister John Manley was appointed by Harper to head an independent, non-partisan panel reviewing Canada's mission and future role in Afghanistan. @raynus1 I voted cons, but even I agree the real gang at the g20 was the police. you need to see some of the videos - the police acted like fascists, broke the law repeatedly, injured innocent bystanders and stripped just about everyone they met of their rights and dignity. and when the asshole thugs showed up and started trashing the place the police stood by and did nothing for hours.lawyers who were called to come represent a client were beaten and stripped searched.

There is a strong rumour in Ottawa that Harper's wife has been having an affair with one of her bodyguards. Gerry Nott, the Editor in Chief of the Ottawa Citizen says he has been aware of this rumour for about six months but they are lacking any publisheable evidence. Apparantly the bodyguard may also be female.

Whether a liberal, conservative, socialist, or capitalist, there is nothing to like about a fascist. The only reason why Steve has any support is that the average Canadian, and hence the average voter, is uneducated and uninformed. From running from torture allegations, to bankrupting the country, to embarrassing us in international negotiations Stephen Harper is truly a national disgrace. The uneducated and uninformed have King Harper. The rest of us debate the merits of the other choices.

@Shellianne - There are more women in Parliament now than ever before. Many immigrants, particularly in Ontario voted for Harper this time. Harper will no doubt get rid of the Wheat Board, which has discriminated against western farmers for years. Lower taxes, a stronger military, tougher on violent criminals, better healthcare management (a provincial responsibility, though), and other things that the Liberals promised and never delivered during their 13 year reign.

If you are referring to the CHRC you are taking a very complex problem facing all Canadians and a serious threat to democracy and free speech, and twisting it to make it look like an attack on women's rights. Nobody has taken the ability for women to fight pay discrimination away, we have an excellent legal system in Canada, that's what the courts are for. The CRHC is unnecessary and often bigoted. If you take the time to get a non-partisan education on the matter, you will find the truth.

Sadly he never just tried, he DID! The fight for pay equity took a huge step backwards in Dec. when the fed. gov. took public sector pay equity away from the Cdn Human Rights Commission and handed it over to the collective bargaining process. Now, even women in the public sector have no legal recourse over wage discrimination.
With all the other examples in this video -- cut backs on maternity leave and child care -- us ladies have to realize we have got to get rid of this anti-feminist PM!

Actually, Jeff Beck13- your comments on Afghanistan are not entirely true. On October 12, 2007, former Liberal Cabinet Minister John Manley was appointed by Harper to head an independent, non-partisan panel reviewing Canada's mission and future role in Afghanistan. This is a Canadian mission- as I am certain that the men and women in the armed forces are of many political stripes... and just for the record- Women's rights in Canada are just that- Rights.
