Am I not doing according to his law and at the same time contradicting it? But the kind he drew probably never had the capacity to think things through that much.

The Law was fulfilled already on our behalf by Christ. We are no longer bound to the letter of the Law. Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor is your law now, not Sabbath observance and dietary restrictions. Do you read Paul at all?
