I agree 100%. The movies he listed would be sweet if i was 12 years old.. I really crave something more than a shitty blockbuster action flick. It may have been for kids, but the orignal animated movie had a good plot and serious voice actors like Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle and Orsen Wells. Also all the kids who loved those cartoons are now adults. So it's a perfect time to make it.

Alot of people say it sucks because Mars is involved and it focuses on current events. But I think it's brilliant. It's possible that Mars was perhaps a staging ground for the invasion of earth. In the japanese versions of Transformers, Mars is prominantly used anyways.
Just give it a chance before you lay smack. The movie's hardly done, after all.
considering the film is still in production - i think its an ok trailer - it uses current affairs and we all know they come to earth anyway, maybe they stopped off on mars for a drink and a piss.

Its basically the grounding movie of why they come there and what's going on. Small amount of autobots and decepticons. 2nd one would be bigger in scale! Just my 2 cents. okay just to clear up some things. Over on Michael Bay's Official website, He says that everything you see in this "OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER" will not appear in the movie! So no mars viewing, no transformer crushing the probe. This is just an ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER that TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE is coming. July 4 2007. The real trailer will be out in a few months. If you go to Movies on yahoo.com you'll see the list of characters appearing in the movie autobots and decepticons.

the beagle 2 was found upside down not destroyed. And it seemed pretty stuiped to me that the transformers movie was gonna be a really searious move rather then a cartoon for kids

i would say because the largest audience for this movie is young adults from ages 20-30 that remember the original show.

It may have been for kids, but the orignal animated movie had a good plot and serious voice actors like Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle and Orsen Wells. Also all the kids who loved those cartoons are now adults. So it's a perfect time to make it.

Michael Bay will kill our childhood memories. They've made Soundwave into a helicopter or some crap because he thought today's audiences wouldn't be able to relate to a boombox. (also, the physics don't work out right!! a 10+ foot robot turning into a shoulder-held ghetto blaster).
And they came from Cybertron, not Mars!!!! i have low hopes for this movie

It will be, to an extent. It's *based* off the original series, rather than the Japanese animes of recent years.

Bernie Mac will be in it? Oh no, bad casting call. the cracks on the surface where the rover is standing are indicators of water, Perhaps they didnt do their research on how Mars looks like.

Didnt Peter Cullen do the Prime voice in the 80's animated movie? If so that's my pic for prime...plus i kinda wished theyd put some Stan Bush tunes in it...or maybe covers of those songs in the background as a little wink to the older fans. And that damn Even Stevens kid is in...that sucks.

Alot of people say it sucks because Mars is involved and it focuses on current events. But I think it's brilliant. It's possible that Mars was perhaps a staging ground for the invasion of earth. In the japanese versions of Transformers, Mars is prominantly used anyways.
Just give it a chance before you lay smack. The movie's hardly done, after all.

considering the film is still in production - i think its an ok trailer - it uses current affairs and we all know they come to earth anyway, maybe they stopped off on mars for a drink and a piss.

"real" announcement message for us. it's not meant to really do anything or hint anything of the movie!!
