The thing about this show, no matter the ingredient they work such magic on it that I WOULD try it, even if the ingredient was something I usually hated.
Sakai-san is usually pretty witty on his repartee with mouthy opponents, but he's being so serious and very focused in this battle. The challenger oughta watch out. ;)
Also, caviar, though expensive and decandent makes a very tricky secret ingredient. It's going to be pretty cool to see the end results of this. And that caviar was $1500/can in the 1990's. Much more expensive today. :)
Tomato sorbet topped with caviar actually sounds good. I am surprised neither chef made an egg dish, like a royale, but maybe that was a bit too obvious. I do wish I was a taster on that panel.
