  • for an awesome tea recipe and how to, check out MARTIAL KITCHEN

  • Very detailed and well done but why put salsa music to your video, its very disturbing when i try to listen. You shold have an instrumental music from thailand or no music at all. Other than that ypu did a great Job!

  • @llauger1NYC Salsa? I only used Thai music for the video . . .

  • I think that portion of powder makes Cha Yen too strong. As for me a half is better IMHO.

  • are you calling asians cheap??? im thai and not all things are cheap...

  • No shit the tea is very hot, it's not boiling for a reason.

  • what milk did you us ? i didnt hear it very well

  • @Matheaoox normally people use sweetened condensed

  • l like a video

  • LOL at "pinch it off"

Silly guy was looking away reaching for a hot pot.

    Condensed milk tastes better.

  • i put like a shit load of water but i didnt get any tea

u said 'he more water in the pitcher the more tea u get'

but i didnt get any tea

  • I used 1 cup of premix to 3 cups water with the pre-made tea mix. I added sugar and 1/2 and 1/2. It was yummy. I had 2-3 servings. The following day, I was going#1 outside, I sneezed, and loaded a runny#2. Please be carefull with this stuff it can cause loose lips.

  • this tea is very good

i was kinda drunk and my friend gave me some from his restraunt and i was sober very quicklie

  • l love the video ....gracias

  • i drink thai milk tea

  • a-roi!!!

  • thai tea is so good:) LOVE IT!

  • sabaideee!

  • i love thai ice tea!!!

  • very entertaining, i make thai tea at my friends restaurant, the one i work at. and this vid can enhance the quality of the tea i serve to the customers =] great job!

  • sabai sabai :D

  • what's your background song and the beginning song as well...i like it...

  • hahaha

    :]

i cant wait to try it?

  • That tea looks very good. I gotta try it. You scared me tho when you showed the viewers how much tea to use. You said for 2 people use this amount. I see now its for a pitcher of tea not a mug/cup. I thought dang thats a lot of tea! Cant wait to try it tho thanks for the vid! How come the tea is dyed? Why do they do that?

  • The ratio I have seen online for Thai tea leaves to water is 1 to 6. For example, 1 cup of tea leaves for 6 cups of water, and then 1 cup of sugar. I used a French press coffee maker, and it came out pretty good though I am sure the Thai sock strainer gets more of the sediment.

To me it seems that boiling it so long would make the tea bitter, though given how many leaves are used in the video, maybe not. I steeped mine for about 5 min. But I think you can get more tea with the 1 to 6 method.

  • I like mine with lime juice only( lime not lemon). It gives you fresh clear taste...when you go to A thai rest ask for ....CHA-DUM-YEN ...Make sure you tell them NO MILK! since most Thai servers in The US don't have any clue. And if you really wanna have a glass of Thai iced tea at home there's no need to go tru all the trouble you can buy it at any asian market. it comes in both can and bottle, already mixed . cost no more than $2 per can.

  • my mom usually uses condense milk instead of half and half. you for to mention how many cups of powder of thai tea do you put if you want to make a gallon of thai tea?

  • sabai sabai!!!!!

  • half and half?? umm thats not exactly how you make it. you supposed to use condensed milk and for a finishing touch you use evaporated milk on top of it. thats how you make it.

  • Great job! love your line the bigger the pitcher, the more tea you have, classic Love Thai tea

  • mmmmm thai tea!

  • This is a really good video, if you want to make Thai Tea, it helped me alot, I am still trying to make it perfect resturant style. Having trouble making it taste strong, and a hard time with the Half & Half on top, keeps seeping in to much :/

  • I love thai tea

  • also as someone already noted, for being so overly deliberate with everything "boiling water is actually very hot" you left out something very important: how much water with how much tea. Not every bag of thai tea is the same size and not every pitcher of water is the same size, lol good try though - very funny stuff

  • "The more water that you put in the pitcher, the more tea that you gonna have"

    funny vid

  • thanks man.

  • yum!!!

  • that was funny

  • nice vid! damm now im gunna go to store and get me a case of the thai tea lol. nice song at the "SaiBai-SaiBai" - Thongchai McIntyre still rock! later.

  • Learn from my mistakes:

I tried boiling water and pouring it in a tea sock full of the tea. The results are mediocre because boiling water goes through a sock full of tea for like a few seconds and spills into a cup. This is a sucky method because you want to boil the tea leaves for a period of time so the water absorbs EVERYTHING.

  • More:

I tried the true method of boiling tea leaves in a huge pot but I mess up the balance vastly- boiling at 350 for 15 min like the video suggests is helpful... because I did it at like 450 for 30 minutes! Lol....

I also mess up with this method because I'm always using either too much tea leaves or too much watery; therefore my tea always comes out either too watery or bitter.

  • i just use the coffee maker instead of boiling it. the outcome is the same but less work.

  • haha yeah i was thinking the same thing. so is it just like making coffee? except using the thai tea leaves? or whatever it is?

  • yup same tea-water ratio :)

    it's called cha thai leaves

  • Thai tea has a very nice flavor! It's high in caffeine, so be careful. First time I made it, I was up all night. THANKS for the video!!!

  • I have seen others use different kinds of teas to make thai tea for example jasmine tea and lipton tea. ANd I notice you used thai leaves, is that a type of tea and does it matter what kind you use? Because when I make it it doesnt quiet taste the same as I get them from the resturant.

  • Yes, it does matter since real Thai Tea is seasoned. I use a brand called Por Kwan. Another popular brand is Pantainorasingh. Both are available online. Enjoy!

  • WANNABE?

  • yea . . . the guy in the video kinda is . . . but not me (the camera guy)!!!

  • @LearnThaiCulture hahaha lol!!!!!!!!!! you are tight

  • @LearnThaiCulture wait hold up the cameras not even moving your just the guy from the video using a camera on the tripod. trying to hide it fag

  • @ACCFJeremiah Dude, you can hear a guy behind the camera at the end.

  • hey i"ve been looking for that music you have in the background.. is it a DVD Karaoke? Please tell me where you got that.. and or just the name of that .. please please.. thanks..

  • check the credits =P

  • @prakies it is called Sabai Sabai by Bird Thongchai.

  • I like thai iced tea da best

  • and it tastes better with evaporated milk or condensed milk rather than half and half.

  • the most important part about making thai tea is getting the exact amount of tea with the exact amount of water. this guy just says "fill the pitcher" pitchers comes in all shapes and sizes. dividing the bag into 3 servings isnt very specific and helpful either.

  • This is pretty cool! I wanted to make this for a while now. Thanks for the tips!

  • A few years ago I made Thai tea at home. I poured the boiling hot water into what was labeled as a 'Pyrex' glass pitcher. Well, it turns out that it wasn't Pyrex, and it exploded all over my white kitchen, staining everything orange.

So, take khun Wit's advice and place the pitcher into the sink first. :)
