  • they can harmoniously play this song as when they were young!! it brings back my life to be young again!!! thanks to you REO!! please keep on goin!!!

  • it's his voice.... WOW didnt get better with age!!!

  • I feel so fortunate to have grown up in this decade of music. We owe a lot to these artists who changed the direction of music and created some of the best music ever! These are songs you never get tired of hearing and they INSTANTLY bring back a memory of a time and place when you first heard them.

  • u guys are still awesome!

  • can somebody post ridin the storm out from the pbs soundstage or if its here somewhere then send it to me, best version of that song I've heard yet

    thanks

  • Jesus, this sounds better than the studio version. I flew a few years and never regretted it.

  • @roccotool Me too and I never looked back. Best thing I ever did.

  • WHATS UP WITH KEVIN AND THE THUMB PLAY Ô¿Ô

  • @ACEOO8 It's just a weird way to play open tuning.

  • Remember listening to "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish" in college dorm 1973. These guys are unstoppable! Great! Thanks so much for posting!!

  • Simply awesome performance.

  • :( no fly!

  • Can't beat a bit of REO.

    Love 'em.

  • This my favourite song ever. But unfortunatlely they don't perform it good as they used to.Do they?

  • I saw their concert in 2004? in MN, still was awesome. I saw them live 5 times before that. When I joined the Navy in '90', that is what I referred to everybody----time for me to fly!!

  • I want to be like him he has it so good!

  • hitting their show in 3 days....20 of us all sitting together, should be a blast

  • When i quit my job im gonna play this song.

  • @kingfish4242 The voice is NOT there after 35 years. The music is still there but sadly the voice aint. And the soundguy isn't the best either. The guitarplayer sounds louder than the man himself during the chorus. Not good

  • @karce42 Thanks for your insight!

  • @karce42 Even though I cherish REO Speedwagon's music, I must give you some credit for some honesty..albeit a bit brutal. His voice still is very good, but has been diminished from the glorious enchanting tenor he had before. The lead singer's voice, in his prime, was one of the most unique voices in all of rock n' rock. It sounds a bit more muted and "twangy" and nasally. Still, his vocals are still considerable and he can still command an audience. God Bless REO Speedwagon forever!

  • @karce42 - Saw them at the NYS Fair in August 2011. I liked the way Cronin addressed this very issue prior to singing "Like You Do" - listen for yourself if you like. Gotta give him credit - he may not sing them perfectly, but at least he's not delusional...and they did put on a great show.

  • What's so sad about this song, the lyrics seem to describe what was going on toward the end of my 20-year marriage. I was the one who felt it was "time for me to fly." My ex-husband died 7 years ago. Neither one of us never remarried.

  • @deathdrop1 That is sad :(

This doesn't compare, but this song was the song that always hit home when I decided I wanted to leave my brother's business and run my own life.

  • After all these years they still "got it"...

  • 大ファンになりました!日本でコンサートを観て聴きたいです。心に染みるなんとも言えない癒しのsongですね。

  • Very Nice !!

  • Nice effort but his voice is fading.

  • bringing back memories can any one say.........road trip ! wow what memories

  • guitar people help me out - the singer looks like he is playing a single barre chord the whole song, what's he actually doing? thanks

  • @clb393 Hi, KC explained this to me when I met him in London in 2007. The guitar is tuned to an open D tuning, DADF#AD, when played open it's a D chord, then he barres the bottom 4 strings at the 5th and 7th frets for the G and A sus chords. That's the way he originally played it in the 70s. He came across the tuning when playing a friends old guitar when he was a teenager. Hope this helps. Lee

  • @clb393 Open D Tunning.

  • REO SPEEDWAGON has Always had good songs THEIR by Fav band :)

  • I was just at an REO concert this Saturday and I completely fell in love with Dave Amato. He is amazing!!! Keep rockin' boys!!!

  • What can you say? Brilliance!! But you can't please everyone (coolhandluke) then if he doesn't like it he has the choice to switch to something else. Best 'live' group on the go.

  • Only problem with that is this guy makes somewhere around 10 times more money in this performance with his teeth out then your grandmother will in here whole life. That is if she is in an honest career to do it. = - )

  • amazing..

  • happy no one disliked this yet...

  • wow, the voice is still there after 35 years

  • @kingfish4242 sounds like my grandma when she sings at church and left her false teeth at home

  • @kingfish4242 it,s agreat band forever

  • @kingfish4242 it,s agreat band forever

  • @kingfish4242 This is so great to see them singing still REO still rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AWESOME!!! thank you very much for posting!!!

  • When I was in 7th grade the coolest thing in the world was to get to go to the REO concert and wear your concert t-shirt to school the next day. Now here it is like 100 years later and they are still rockin' . Saw this concert on DirecTV ch. 101 and was like blown away all over again. Still one of my fav's. Rock on gents. !!!!!!!!
