I feel so fortunate to have grown up in this decade of music. We owe a lot to these artists who changed the direction of music and created some of the best music ever! These are songs you never get tired of hearing and they INSTANTLY bring back a memory of a time and place when you first heard them.
Remember listening to "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish" in college dorm 1973. These guys are unstoppable! Great! Thanks so much for posting!!
I saw their concert in 2004? in MN, still was awesome. I saw them live 5 times before that. When I joined the Navy in '90', that is what I referred to everybody----time for me to fly!!
Saw them in concert in the late 70"s and the early 80's and any other time I could in the Midwest!!! They continually make my heart dance and the awesome memories!!!! This is what REAL MUSIC IS!! LOVE YOU FOREVER REO Speedwagon Thank you for your TALENT!!!!

@kingfish4242 The voice is NOT there after 35 years. The music is still there but sadly the voice aint. And the soundguy isn't the best either. The guitarplayer sounds louder than the man himself during the chorus. Not good
@karce42 Even though I cherish REO Speedwagon's music, I must give you some credit for some honesty..albeit a bit brutal. His voice still is very good, but has been diminished from the glorious enchanting tenor he had before. The lead singer's voice, in his prime, was one of the most unique voices in all of rock n' rock. It sounds a bit more muted and "twangy" and nasally. Still, his vocals are still considerable and he can still command an audience. God Bless REO Speedwagon forever!
@karce42 - Saw them at the NYS Fair in August 2011. I liked the way Cronin addressed this very issue prior to singing "Like You Do" - listen for yourself if you like. Gotta give him credit - he may not sing them perfectly, but at least he's not delusional...and they did put on a great show.
What's so sad about this song, the lyrics seem to describe what was going on toward the end of my 20-year marriage. I was the one who felt it was "time for me to fly." My ex-husband died 7 years ago. Neither one of us never remarried.
@clb393 Hi, KC explained this to me when I met him in London in 2007. The guitar is tuned to an open D tuning, DADF#AD, when played open it's a D chord, then he barres the bottom 4 strings at the 5th and 7th frets for the G and A sus chords. That's the way he originally played it in the 70s. He came across the tuning when playing a friends old guitar when he was a teenager. Hope this helps. Lee
What can you say? Brilliance!! But you can't please everyone (coolhandluke) then if he doesn't like it he has the choice to switch to something else. Best 'live' group on the go.
Only problem with that is this guy makes somewhere around 10 times more money in this performance with his teeth out then your grandmother will in here whole life. That is if she is in an honest career to do it. = - )
When I was in 7th grade the coolest thing in the world was to get to go to the REO concert and wear your concert t-shirt to school the next day. Now here it is like 100 years later and they are still rockin' . Saw this concert on DirecTV ch. 101 and was like blown away all over again. Still one of my fav's. Rock on gents. !!!!!!!!
all these years and there still as hot as hell.

@deathdrop1 That is sad :(
This doesn't compare, but this song was the song that always hit home when I decided I wanted to leave my brother's business and run my own life.
