She actually excommunicate by her Bishop in Australia at the time due to false accusation and pressure from the priest who had been complain by McKillop because of sexual abused. McKillop herself travel to Rome to gain autoraization of her newly found religious congregation and Vatican did encourage her good work. His Bishop excommunicate her due to her congregation not under Diocesan control.
