  • WHAT IS THIS SONG SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME !!!

  • did he invented the crossover ?

he has complicated moves back in the days were people playing simple basketball

  • He was the mix among Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and Magic Johnson

  • Pete Maravich was a Nazi

  • Greatest Showman Of All Time, "Pistol" Pete Maravich. 100 times more spectacular and humble than "King without a Ring" James. A true champion.

  • after i watched this i think is the best point guard ever

  • @CARLOSGURO easy to say when your just watching highlights and didn't actually get to see him in full games.

  • He created some of them and made the rest of them famous. He executed moves so accurately and naturally on a regular basis, moves that these days are only used often in street ball.

  • he has modern day moves.

  • this is the best tribute i have seen so far great job

  • Oh sh$t.. he pinned that sh$t off the glass.... hahah, get that sh$t out of here. Great video!

  • he was serbian

  • this is my inspiration to play basketball and get better. i love Pistol Pete

1 i have red all of his books about him!

  • great video. question: larry bird game play is similar to pistol pete or is my idea only?

  • @NoNameUMFuckers only yours pistol pete is better

  • i wish i was old enough to see one of the, if not the greatest ball handler in the world

  • @kayzeeV1 same here my librarian's husband play with pistol pete his was his best friend

  • Yesterday against the Heat I watched a young man who reminded me the great and only pistol pete. The reincarnation of Maravich grows inside of Ricky Rubio

  • @TurboKock seriously dude? ...

  • what's the song for the first two minutes ?

  • @2727taterbug don't be such a dick head racist. Pete was nasty and before his time with the things he did...everybody wanting to be like Pete. Bird, Jordan had their era...Kobe had his...Dirk is having his time, cloest thing to Bird....D Rose is coming, so is Blake. Everyone has there time white and black. So shut the fuck up sit down and enjoy a legend at his best and stop trying to make it a black in white thing like hockey.

  • taught magic johnson everything he knew, best ever, 42 game for 3 years avg college, and 57 if count 3s, no 3 point line yet

  • @tenneseevolscp123 because they liked the team that lost to Pete in his 68 point game

  • why would 17 people dislike this video

  • The pistol was an originator back then, but Steve Nash would lay waste to him.

  • @illSavant pisol way wya way better than jordan let alone nash, taught magic handle and bird shoot, bellamy too, if couach not retarred and had team easily outdo jordan or loser kobe or home court sissy magic frauds

  • @illSavant reaaallllllyyyyy??? dont talk shit like you KNOW anything from the start.

  • Pistol Pete shits on Chuck Norris

  • he didnt call bank

  • Pistol Pete is of Serbian descent. Makes sense.

  • He was already played like a NBA player nowadays

  • the descripsion say fall of hame........

  • @Hymankaplan ummm u do realize Pete was in the f***ing hall of fame????!??!

  • He's in the hall of fame so everyone who acts like he sucks is stupid.

  • @Hymankaplan that's funny. He's in the hall of fame? Enough said.

  • than x for this video its my all-time fav

  • b-ball's back luv it!

  • ...I hear jordan this jordan that.. I just shrug and be like 'Pistol' Pete MARA- Mara- MARAVICH

  • It's easy to judge player based on highlights, but you can make any player look good like that. The fact is Maravich was a career looser and there was a good reason for that, he made spectacular passes, but never wen't for the easy one, causing him to average an insane number of 5.0 TOs pg in 1978 (1st season NBA recorded TOs). He was a high volume, low efficient, bad FG%, turnover prone player and was considered the worst defender in NBA history. That kind of player is every coach's nightmare..

  • if the 3 point line existed he woulda had like 75..or more

  • Before American Culture taught white youth they weren't fast enough to be a running back in the NFL or athletic enough to play in the NBA ,, much like when black youths were told not to play QB...

  • Avg 44 ppg without the 3 point line. Thats INCREDIBLE!

  • theres not one lick of defense in any of these highlights.

  • @timfosho You don't avg 44 ppg without people trying to stop you. They couldn't.

  • And he played at this elite level with a defective heart....

  • This was before white American boys were brainwashed into believing that they could not play basketball at a high level.

  • @2727taterbug LOL that was before KFC using hormones to make chickens grow! kiakiaika

    Sorry I'm from Brazil, don't hate ;)

  • @2727taterbug Pistol Pete was a great Basketball player, never heard him say I'm a great WHITE player. He never cared and I'd venture to say NBA Basketball players in general don't even think about what race the guy they are trying to beat is. No body has brain washed anyone into thinking they can't play Basketball at a high level. The Fact is BBall is an inner city poorer persons sport because it's not expensive. Ya need sneakers a ball & hoops. Tennis shoes are optional.B fast and big helps

  • @2727taterbug White raised in Oakland Ca never ever was lead to believe because I was white basketball was a game I shouldn't play. Being 5'9" had more to do with it. I played against some NBA pro's and their game was just better had nothing to race. Like my Uncle who coached at St Joe's before (J kidd played there) St Elizabeth on 34ave and they won a lot of games told me a good big man will beat a good little man everyday. Pistol was 6'5". if i was 6'5" with my 39" hops OMG.

  • @2727taterbug More on being not brain washed Me and 4 other friends 3 black and 1 other white kid would play ALL takers hold court until we got too tired anywhere in the Bay Area mostly in Oakland the other white guy was the best between us. 5'7" tops he was a lefty had handles and a shooter deadly and when we needed 1 shot to win we all looked for him. We were all good liked to smoke and party. when we'd beat the " ballers" it was all fun and beers and laughs after.

  • Respond to this video... Like other sports Boxing as an example that kids with athletic skills will avoid. They will play all other sports and gravitate to where they can excel .So who would choose Boxing ?Or If you're not 6'5" or taller Basketball probably isn't a good choice to try to make the pro level.

Give your kid a golf club or Tennis Raquet

  • 2good4uatbball now that is true

  • @2727taterbug Hiding this is now darkies believe thier on bs how mr travel kobe or hack 20 fouls a game jordan are better than thier superiors bird pistol walkton barry etcetc...kbe n jordan are nuthing but steroid monkey who took ton of shots and when give whitiey same ton of shots they hit better % and win lol

  • @2727taterbug brainwashed by who? the black corporations?? I guess you dont watch NBA, what you say is offensive for great players like Kevin Love, Jason Kid or even Jimmer Fredette who didn t came out of the gates in the best way (and im not talking about historical players). You reminded me to South Park´s "they took ur jub!"

  • @TheApols

Brainwashed not by a group but by American culture, everybody hears blacks are superior at basketball, by science it is true, but even in football coaches are known to push players in to certain positions by their race (i.e. white's to QB or TE black's to WR or RB) . That holds some water because biologically Blacks are faster and quicker than whites and whites are framed stronger than blacks. In this very same way athletic whites are pushed away from bball. It's a shame!

  • @PatrickEganLong

That's not to say there aren't AWESOME white players, they're rare though. I love a player for their game not their color, obviously, but I'd love a new Pistol or Jerry West or Rick Barry (if he wasn't such a dick) or Chris Mullins! They bring something unique to BBall!

  • @PatrickEganLong ok you ve got a point. if you want to name awesome white players, not just americans you can add Dirk Nowitski, Nash, Pau and Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Manu Ginobili, it s ok, black players are more athletic and they are a majority, but all of these guys are quality starters or stars in their teams, your explanation is good i just didnt like the other guy s phrase

  • THE BEST SERBIAN PLAYER OF ALL TIME LOOK JUST THE GAME IT'S LIKE THE BASKETBALL STREET TOURNMENT OR NBA ALL STARS 2000' S

  • Mj and Pistol greatest players all of time in my opinion.

  • finnaly in nba 2k , is pistol pete

  • Just awesome. Would dominate the league or college today. Insane skills. Too bad not take more shots in his career in nba as he was free to in colelge I think coaches minds didn't get that team could do very well with more shots from 1 guy. Worked for kobe and lakers with kobe taking 38 shots a game when add in fga+ft/2 people don't ge tif you take 30 free throws thas 15 shots u took. even if you show 0 fiield goals

  • If Pistol Pete played during the 80's he would've been a megastar.

  • pistol pete could handel the ball better than oscer robertson and jerry west. he was faster and quicker then them. and could shoot just as well. truly the 3rd or 4th greatest player. but the only thing is that pistol pete didn't win as much as them thats why some people say he is a loser

  • What is the name of the opening number?

  • He's the more talented version of Steve Nash.

  • Imagine if him and bird was on the same team

  • @dezmania3 they was but it was at the end of maravich career

  • Amazing.

  • He's playing like the Negro boys...If you have Netflix you know what I'm talking about lol.

  • @bennie628 yeah

  • most passionate player ever

  • 4:57 is double dribble right? Still an awesome move.

  • @NoGoodJim Yeah but he did it so smooth, almost as smooth as my thighs...Almost.

  • i watch this mix everyday now

  • Is there any move that anyones ever done that Pistol Pete didnt do first? Every move ive ever seen anyone do in the modern game (and some that only pete has done) is in this highlight reel, and he did it 30plus years ago. Pete Maravich is one of the most important inovators in basketball history, and ironically enough seems to be largely forgoten by modern fans... the Pistol is the greatest

  • He lit Walt Frazier ass up with that 68pt game.

  • I just LOVE this video. Can't understand why Pistol Pete is so little known nowadays, it's astonishing how good he was, a true pioneer.

  • Great footage.

  • Omg... fkin awesome and white.

  • I wonder how many people got hit in the face by his passes when they weren't expecting them... lol

  • showtime before magic

  • my fav player of all time

  • Pistol Pete is in NBA 2k12 :D

  • 1:27.. .would never happen in today's game

  • what is the song at the beginning

  • Wow. I see bits of Jordan, Hakeem, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in Pistol. Pistol Pete was definitely one of the most exciting players to watch. He was totally ahead of his time, and was one of the game's pioneers.

  • pistol starts walkin away as soon as he releases the ball lol he knew he was that good

  • One of the few truly great early innovators in basketball. It's a shame he never played with a good supporting cast in the pro's, well till he went to Boston but his knees were shot by then.

  • magic is gay!

  • SERB!! HOW HE CAN NOT BE GREAT :)

  • magic is better

  • @SuperMamba12 You're kidding right?

  • Comment removed

  • @300josh not really

  • @SuperMamba12 Tell me how magic is better I dare ya.

  • @300josh he's better team player than pistol, but not as an individual

  • @SuperMamba12 Pistol came where there was no three point line. I agree with you that Magic is a better passer and yeah but the teams that Maravich played on weren't really fast break type teams. And in the 70's you had much more harder and talented people like Dr J, Kareem, also Bill Walton, and a young Earl Monroe, and a few more.

  • @300josh also magic had JORDAN and larry also magic didnt need fastbreaks to make an amazing pass

  • @SuperMamba12 Most of his passes consist of fastbreaks hence "Laker Showtime". Jordan was only there for 6 years near the ending of Magic's career. He never played against Jordan in his prime. Larry Bird was his rival but they didn't meet at every game they played. Think of it like this, Pete Maravich is like Derrick Rose in the 70's but with more challenges. I also forgot that Walt Frazier was another legendary player that Pete played against.

  • @300josh no he was known well for his no look passes not fastbreak passes pistol pete is know for his dribbling and scoring but magic is known for he's rebounding, assists and scoring also he had to compete with Isiah Thomas. magic became better than Isiah when he was a rookie

  • @SuperMamba12 fucking laker fans always try this shit! "magic was better than pistol pete." kobe is better than jordan." if those players didnt play for the lakers then they wouldnt defend them so much.

  • @caswell01 im a bulls fan

  • He's in 2k12!!!!

  • truly the GREATEST

  • Looks up to the sky 3:46

  • You can see how Pistol was years ahead of his time, he played the way every basketball player today wishes they could.

  • @metallicafan53 it's like watching a non athletic hybrid of kobe bryant and magic johnson with a great game... before them! he was truly a bball pioneer!

  • @alejandrothefader i wouldn't necessarily call him non athletic. less athletic than kobe or magic of course, but non athletic is a little extreme lol

  • @scarfaceaceo well... he is less athletic than i am at his height (but his mastery over the ball is unparalleled at that height and athletic capability), in fact he is NOT athletic... and that is the incredible thing about him :)

  • @alejandrothefader Non-athletic? NON-ATHLETIC!! you must be joking, right?

  • @Prowler609 im not joking... do you see any extrrordinary athletism anywhere? no, i thought so... he was great, fairly athletic, but his game was in fundamental bball and skills and you can't claim he was an athletic guy when he wasn't... compare him to athletic guys and you will understand my point

  • @alejandrothefader Who said anything about "EXRORDINARY"!! Now you say he's fairly athletic and being "fairly"athletic is far from being NON-athletic.. And by today''s style of playing and what is considered "athletic" Wilt Chamberlin and Bill Russell wouldn't be considered athletic-- Like Wilt said-- they played a different style in his day....

  • @Prowler609 what about "non athletic hybrid" you can't understand? im obviously comparing him to todays standards... if you disagree go "correct another youtouber out there, cause i seem to know what im talking about... and compared to wilt and bill he is still virtually not athletic...

  • @alejandrothefader I got news for you. Pistol Pete is way more athletic than Magic ever was.

  • This man would SCHOOL any player playing these days

  • NCAA career average of 44 pts.per game.(not shot 3 pointers)

  • NBA Hall of Fame induction cited him as "perhaps the greatest creative offensive talent in history"..... well, that is something. In a ddition to his LSU - NCAA career average of 44 pts. per game. (He still hols the Division 1 all-time leading scorer)....

  • hey pistol pete fans, i just found a really awesome original and very funny video about pistol pete made by some kid - search for 'Pistol Pete Trailer ' on youtube or here is the link - youtube. com/watch?v=lUjevpIyv-4

  • Seemed he was a head of his time damn, sweet moves man

  • wow this guy was amazing. whoever watched basketball around the time he played were really fortunate

  • @Blaxraptor That would be me...just one of millions...sure was fun watching him play.

  • l3rando I'm 5 6 and I can do some crazy dunks. Truthfully, anyone can do it, just follow the right training program. I highly recommend the training program at "50-inch-vertical(dot)com" but any workout could be followed if you are sure they generate results

  • 68 points without 3 point line. This is amazing!

  • What's the song?

  • @JugglingMathmo - its in the credits.

  • 3:11 he invented ankle breaker! damn!

  • For me this man invet basketball.:DDD

  • Favorite player ever mj dont got nothing on his game

  • THATS,

    WRIST CONTROL.

  • just think how well he would do now that the NBA doesnt' call travelling

  • sadly the forgotten legend.... by his bad luck... he should have been more remembered and more famous... but by me is one of the gratest!!!!!

  • Serbian blood :D

  • DAAAAAMN!!! And I thought micheal Jordan was the best of all time! Compare to this guy I just changed my mind after watching his shooting ball handling and assists!! WOW

  • when will nba 2k put pistol pete in!

  • @kdxghost i would be so happy ...hope they put him in 2k12 ..

  • @kdxghost today

  • 2k10 has him in the 70's all star team :)

  • @kdxghost: He's going to be in 2K12, thanks for all the people that requested him i was one of them. I can't wait to play as him

  • @kdxghost 2k12

  • @kdxghost he was in 2k10

  • @kdxghost this year!

  • @kdxghost he's in 2k12...

  • @kdxghost maravich is at training camp in nba 2k12. he is the mentor of derrick rose :D

  • Comment removed

  • @kdxghost they already did

  • @kdxghost he's in 2k12 idk if you can play as him but you can go to training camp with him.

  • never really understood why he's not hyped up more as one of the greatest players ever!!

  • @AU2010Mr He was probably the greatest college player ever and one of the most naturally gifted players of all time. However, he was a terrible defender, turned the ball over way too much, lacked the intangibles of a great player and a champion and never made it past the 1st round of the playoffs (not once!).

  • @mufcrulz Yes he did. Maravich's third year with the hawks with the head coach Cotten Fitzimmons they finished 48 and 35 and were elimated in the second round by the Lakers; the year they had their 33 game win streak. Then, in Larry birds first year, the Celtics signed Maravich for the remainder of that year after Utah released him and bought him out. That year the Celtics made it to the conference semi finals but were elimated. I cant remember who elimated the Celtics that year.

  • @Dbusdriver71 nope. atlanta lost to boston in 6 games in the 1st round. your right about him making the ECF with the celtics but he was only a bench player by that time so it doesn't really count...

  • @mufcrulz Maravich's third year with atlanta when cotton fitzimmons was the coach they were elimated by the Lakers during their run to their first nba championship since leaving minesota. This was the second round for that Atlanta Hawks. The playoffs back then would have teams go back and forth tween east and west.

  • @Dbusdriver71 they lost to boston in 1972/73 playoffs in the ECF semi-finals(which was the first round back then). I suggest you look it up...

  • @mufcrulz I will. I was under the impression that teams criss-crossed from confrences in a weird playoff format. If i'm wrong I stand corrected.

  • Omg those passes at 3:32 and 3:37 are just sick!

  • what's the name of the first music piece?

  • white boy good at ball handling what the fuck

  • I don't imagine Pistol jumping from the free throw line or jumping over a power forward as well as i don't imagine Jordan doing many of the tricks Pistol used to do like in the minute 4:43 or the minute 4:56. Jordan began to be successful when he was surrounded by good players like Pippen. Imagine the young Pistol playing with Magic or Bird...

  • Jordan was an excellent player, no doubt about it. However we must remember Jordan had very good team mates (Pippen was like Jordan's clone): Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, Paxon, Armstrong, Steve Kerr, Will Perdue, Cartwright, Wennington and other hard workers... many of them in the Hall of Fame like Jordan. Pistol never had such good team mates, only his last year as a professional with Bird, when he was so injured he couldn't even run. Jordan was an athlet, Pistol was a magician.

  • @telemakhos31 Both were naturally gifted but maravich had several weaknesses in his game and wasn't nearly as driven or competitive as jordan. If maravich played on the 90s bulls they wouldn't have won 1 title let alone 6.

  • Pistol Pete could've been in And 1 Mixtape Tour

  • ,,,Pete would get RAPED if PIPPEN OR LEBRON IS GUARDING HIM,,,RIP,,

  • @noformstyle Did you catch the finals, Lebron didn't look too impressive to me.

  • @dredandmrbears so that dosent mean that hes not a fantastic player

  • the footage is legendary, i wish he didnt have his problems :/ missed out on a once in a century player @.@

  • Larry Bird's inspiration.

  • you know wat i find funny is how people are commenting on this video and saying pete sucks well then why you watching this?? look at 673 likes and 15 people like kobe!!

  • 5.48! WooW!

  • 68 pts. with no 3-pt. shot. Crazy.
