This is brilliant! Can anyone confirm Iggy once did an interview where there was a large dog in the studio? I think it was early '80s. Iggy and the dog formed an unholy alliance and ran around the studio, refusing to come back and be interviewed. As I recall, when finally coaxed back to the couch, Iggy started pointing to the face of the female host (or fellow guest) and asked the camera to "get a close up of these bags under her eyes..." Iggy was NOT on cocaine or any other drug. He was in fact drunk during the interview and performance (which was ad-libbed). He had scoffed a bottle or so of whisky just before arriving at the ABC studios in Ripponlea in Melbourne. I knew the girl who shared the taxi with him to the ABC at the time. Contrary to popular belief, no-one was injured when he threw the mic stand at the end. Furthermore the girls were not scared, just cautious in case he fell off stage.

this is actually one of the most well-remembered performances he ever did because it's lip-synched, something really only reserved for music videos. On other shows they would at least leave the vocal muted so it would sound live.

This was so far behind its time and silly by the standards of what Iggy was used to doing that he makes fun of the process mercilessly; making Iggy huge in Australia and forcing Countdown to get out of the 60's and showcase live music.
