  • Brilliant movie, i saw this 13 times in theaters in both 3D and 2D versions, one of my new favorite movies and from one of my fave directors. Sure he borrowed from Lawrence of Arabia, Dances with Wolves, Last of the Mohicans, Heavy Metal, Dune, Ferngully, Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (Warriors of the Wind), Willow, Atlantis, Fantastic Planet, LightYears, Starchaser Legend of Orin, Castle in The Sky and Star Wars but it's just a great show of entertainment

  • He was right about it being like a place in your dreams. I had a dream where I was in a forest just like the one in pandora (before I saw Avatar).

  • Those are the dates: Avatar 2 - 2014 Avatar 3 - 2015

  • THIS GUY IS THE BEST DIRECTOR EVER!!!!

  • @KARTONVERDE

Duh! lol. That's why he is also getting so much hate too. And, it sucks IMO.

  • Beautiful movie! Really hope he does a sequel:)

  • I have never been sold on a sequel without seeing at least one trailer. I will be there for sure.

  • Cameron IS making an Avatar 2 and maybe also 3 :D

  • One of my friends told me that Cameron is going to make an avatar 2. ARE he going to make a number 2?

  • Best movie maker ever!! I admire his passion and work effort.

  • i want a f*ckin sequel :( now

  • This movie sums up all the bull shit that new movies are about nowadays yadadamean? this hippie fuckin fantasy world bull shit. fkin faggots.

  • @Juajiin Nice you sound really intelligent... Did you maybe think about the fact that we as a race are using up more and more of our planets natural resources every day? Think about it, and call me what you will, but do you want our race to fall by our own hand? I loved Avatar, it really made me see a different side of things now I am trying to be greener, eating organic, and just trying to be natural. You my friend need to stop being so judgmental.

  • @Bigcot203 Did you maybe think that you as a hippie are a fag, you havn't seen shit, step outta the city for a while and tell me you can't find natural resources, more than you know you fkin darylict. Avatar is babies shit, not reality... you my friend are a fkin pussy. Good for you for being greener, I on the other hand own a hemi, and I don't care I love that fkin shit!

  • Anybody knows for shure if it's gonna be made another AVATAR movie? James Cameroon in working for shure on another AVATAR? or there are just things that he might do?

  • @AlanJArdelean Yeah, they will be making another one, Apparently it will be set in Pandora's oceans, which should be pretty cool. Hopefully it will be as good as or better than Avatar itself.

  • @Godlovesrockmusic Yes i saw a video with James Cameroon , himself, saying he is kind of '' forced'' to do another AVATAR by the media, and the first one succes, he sayed that the graphyc navi's are allready made and the environment so it wouldn't take much time, but he didn't say anything about the oceans , or where it would happend,. ofcourse it's going to be on Pandora,. but nothing like that ! Where did you get that information???

  • @AlanJArdelean wikipedia say that james cameron said that there would come a avatar 2 and 3 but he will work on an other film first that will be done in 2011

  • If you are interested in the avatar sequel then come check out my channel where i upload avatar 2 updates.

  • Theres going to be a sequal. Check out my channel to see the interveiw of James saying it himself.

  • i smell a sequel!!! *sniff sniff* smells like chicken

  • people who dont want them to make avatar 2 and stuff should actually be happy, look what LOTR turned out like...

  • I wonder what Kevin Costner thinks of Avatar?

  • Society uses technology to satisfy greed, whereas it should be used to make the necessary things easier, and reduce our impact on the planet.

  • You moron!

How many millions of dollars was spent to develop the technology in this movie? This movie, which was made solely for OUR AMUSEMENT, our "GREED"! (And of of course James Camerons purse)

Stop thinking you care, and look around you fool.

  • @alucard1016 I was considering the fact when I posted the comment. That doesn't mean Avatar's message is wrong does it though?

A lot of people are realising. Of course it's not going to stop people drilling oil and buying laptops, but if the film was made with facepaint in a national park, then it wouldn't get the message across to so many people.

  • @alucard1016 I do care, regardless of this film. But the way things area headed, we're screwed anyway.

  • Id love to meet James Cameron.

  • I'm the king of the world!!!

  • this movie is epic

  • i had to go straight to the source (James Cameron) to really believe if they were making sequels to Avatar. now i know and can't wait til they do. the sequels should have the same magic and touch as the first one because James Cameron said he started coming up with the story for a trilogy back when he first came up with the first movie. so we can all naturally assume the next 2 Avatar movies will be as good or better than the first.

  • wow what an experince in IMAX 3D.....grt movie rockin in each and every frame

  • so i love the movie, but your camera is really bad...

Ever if J.C. move his hand, you see many lines...

    But nice Film from J.C.

  • Its funny i can speak na'vi and i always dream now of living on pandora tell me if im crazy :)

  • I heard if you can hold your breath for three whole minutes you can see Pandora.

  • avatar should have won they only let hurt locker win cause shes the first woman to direct a good war movie and also it was about modern war and another thing it probly didnt take he long to work on it it took james five years he worked his ass of on this movie fuck the hurt locker and the oscars avatar it still the most selling movie of all time now and hurt locker isnt

  • the hur locker was made by his wife.

  • well ex-wife

  • Or because Avatar was a steaming pile of 3D garbage.

  • james cameron. i am one of the na"vi people. seriously...

  • AVATAR should have won in my honest opinoin, my 2 cents... i think the oscars we're all "political" i mean..its like they saw avatar and was like ok u broke the record, now let someone else have the spotlight..and what better way to have james cameron lose to his ex-wife director of the hurt locker who IRONICALLY sat right in front of him...like wtf any more akward their guys?! and that hurry up rush ending "the winner is hurtlocker thank you goodnight!" like wtf was that about..avatar 4ever!!!

  • One of the greatest movie I have ever seen!

  • This movie was very good. And I am definetly glad he made a popular movie with such a great message to give.

  • AVATAR is the best

  • James Cameron el director de Avatar tiene 9 nominaciones al Oscar, pero en un principio su familia no estaba del todo de acuerdo con su profesión.

Visita la página de Playboy México para leer la entrevista completa.

  • lol at 2:57 love how he goes "Throughout history..." obviously trying to take the potential slack of America with the topics the film raises.

"Throughout history" obviously means "not just in America..."

  • I LOOOOOOOVED this movie... its definitely one of the best movies ive ever seen

  • All Avatar haters have no imagination what so ever.

Avatar is THE BEST FUCKING FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN.

  • SEQUEL YES PLEASE!! I am holy intoxicated by this movie, honestly. I don't think any other movie has really brought me out of the real world for a couple of hours than this. It was beautiful in every way, and it made me not want to go back to earth.

  • it's a MOVIE. welcome back to reality.

  • hey avatar was sweet movie man dont dis him just because u guys cant think of any good movie ideas dosnt mean u need to be all pisse

  • fuck you, you piece of shit

  • hes very wise and says things that really make sense. i like him, hes realistic

  • greatest movie ive ever seen

  • me too

  • i'm in love with this movie !!!!!!

    hope to see sequels....

we are destroying our planet, and he showed that through this movie....we should listen to message and respond to it....not to let our world to die...

  • @del92sc thats how i felt after watching avatar for the 2nd time. i felt a mutual connection with the character jake when he said "What the Hell am I doing?"

  • @theamericandream1989 that scene makes us to look through our lives...but the scene where they represent Earth like dying planet...that is Cameron's version of Earth...and I must agree with him ... when you see how many beautiful places is there in the world....you must ask yourselves...what was here before all these buildings and streets ??? ( where you live )

  • @del92sc yeah, i don't JUST think its Cameron's version of Earth, its the truth about Earth that a lot of people take for granted. but i definately agree with you. Watchmen put it in a good way too "how can this be improved by..." Earth is beautiful when untouched by technology which only makes life easier, not necessarily "better"

  • i'm really happy that a movie like this has finally come out. most of the time it's hollow movies showing the false glory of war and nationalism and all that shit which is tearing everyone apart. it's very refreshing to see a movie that's shown everywhere that has a really significant meaning and brings up important questions

  • oh trust me mate, its more than amazing

  • amazing.

  • I would never have believed it but Avatar is going to become the highest grossing film of all time.

  • i totally agrre with james we should deffenetly think of what we are doing to our world and do something about it. GO GO JAMES CAMERON. hope to meet him some day. and avatar RULES DUDE. wish i was in london dec 16th and meet the stars like sam worthington, zoe zaldana, sigourney weaver and of course james himself

  • Scam.

  • Scam.

  • It's a scam, don't do it.

  • So whats with the flying moutains then?

  • The mountains floated because of the material they were made from. The "unobtainium" the humans were mining for is a super conductor and the magnetic effect causes the "unobtainium" to rip loose from the surface and float in the magnetic vortexes. The mountains were huge clomps of the stuff. I got bored and looked it up...lol

  • Thanks, now it makes sense in a weird way.

  • I watched this move today at the cinema and it was definately the best I've ever seen. I mean I had goosebumps during most of Transformers 2. That was nothing compared to this one. i can't wait for a possible Avatar 2.

  • This movie could be ground breaking for many things.. like he said... disscussion of oppressed peoples and nature. This could (I hope) back up the environmental movement by putting more of a thought process and emotion into it instead of just a politically polarized debate.. if a huge movie is what it takes for society to make progress... let's see what it can do!

  • And this is why Avatar is not only a stupid movie, but a dangerous one as well, for inspiring morons to think that they can try to recreate Pandora on Earth.

There once was a guy who tried to make people turn their backs on technology and return to nature.

    His name was Pol Pot.

  • Are you comparing James Cameron to Pol Pot?

  • If he wants the same thing as Pol Pot (and he does), then yes.

  • koo-koo

  • FINALLY! I found an interview that mentions the ISSUES of the movie instead of just the effects and budget. Oh, and no coincidience that this movie is accompanied with glamorized national guard adds and 3D posters greeting you outside the theater. They're trying to keep a good image, but that shouldn't stop us from challenging the 'might makes right' imperial mentality.

  • interviewer left ear. jim right ear

  • y are people giving u a thumbs down for saying u cant here them?

  • i have no idea! lol

  • Your the one making it as 'simple' as being human. 'Human' does not need to be tied to the oppresive company portrayed in Avatar. If your not open minded enough to see a way of being human thats NOT oppressive, thats your loss, your isolating yourself.

  • Running around in the jungle wearing nothing but a skimpy loincloth is no way to go through life, son.

  • With a little more thought past the extremeties of hollywood, maybe the basic concepts of community and knowlege of local place are what carry through to us. Try the essays of Wendell Berry, its all about restucturing agriculture and economy to be sustainable and to build stronger communities. There's a difference between turning our backs on technology and transforming it to be more wholistic to the earth and to people, but you gotta question what 'progress' really is.

  • You're not being a realist. With over six billion people on the planet right now, there's NO WAY we can just go back to living like a handful of Amish.

Either you set up death camps and exterminate the excess 5 billion people, or you just accept the fact that technology IS the way to survive, period.

  • Your not being creative. You go to every extreme, Amish, Pol Pot, but where's a balance? I didn't say there's an excess, but if everyone lives like America there's not enough to go around. Localizing doesnt mean going back. True, tecnology is the way to survive - There's a plethora of videos on here about ecodesign and sustainable technology.

Those are opporunities for technology to transform into circular systems instead of being wasteful. Thats survival.

  • Have you ever seen an environmentalist that DOESN'T want to drag us back to Medieval times, if not the Stone Age?

Oh wait. FIRE BAD! Greenhouse gasses! So I guess we can't even get the comforts of being a cave man either.

  • It doesn't sound like you looked into what or why people are working on new eco-technologies. What about non-western worldviews that see life as circular? Native Americans today get to be included in new technoligies, right? Do they have to conform to western ideals or does their worldview get included as important? Why can't their worldview be seen as something to offer a linear society? If you don't understand Native American land use, (Winona Laduke for example) you'll only see backtracking.

  • You're trying to refight the wars of the last 300 years. Daydreaming about torpedoing the Mayflower too, I'd bet.

  • i'll think about your point, i'll do my best. But in return you could give new ideas of sustainablity a chance. yes, 'fire bad'... why not grow like a tree, and not like a fire? why burn the world in order to live in it? unlimited econimic growth? thats burning the world to live in it. if we can't make it profitable to grow like a tree, be efficient in material flows, and include ecological processes into modern technology, the economy or technology isn't realist, its a short term illusion.

  • @RebrnEmpwrd

    Go read some history books.

  • lol amish, amish are no where near anything what the old world was.

  • James Cameron is back

  • Smart Man ^^
