Spock Beards, Tool, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, The Flower Kings, The Mars Volta, WRPL, Ark, Frost, Crak in the Sky, Echolyn, Riveside, Opeth, estos tipos mexclaron Death metal con prog elements, OSI, IQ, marillion.. y muchooooooooos MAs....
Excellent cover on a challenging track. One of my favorites. Any thoughts on doing the whole piece including Merday Morn/Hand of Sceiron/Garden of Worm?
Wow, I didn't make the above comment! Must have been a friend who has perused YouTube while visiting... I could see him not checking to see who is logged in ;-)
Freaky.
But getting the email notifying me that you replied to "my" comment pointed me to this video for the first time... very cool! I've seen Anekdoten twice... don't miss them if you get the chance to go.
Good performance

They're probably replicating King Crimson's version of "Mars", a 1914 composition by Gustav Holst.

yes, but this cover is in 6/4 time instead of King Crimson's 5/4. The original Mars is in 5/4 as well.

What mellotron is this?

pretty sure it is just an M400 with a synth on top of it (thus making it look a bit weird)

sounds like the beginning of Metallica's "Am I Evil"

They're playing it in 6/4 instead of the original 5/4. Hmm. Great anyway!

quite impressive live performance! I never saw/heard nothing about Anekdoten. too bad YouTube´s encoders sometimes causes A/V sync problems.
Thanks for posting it!! I´ll be checking their work from now!

Very nice, reminds me of Rush's "Jacob's Ladder"
ElusiveJuice 5 years ago
Nope, it's based on Gustav Holst's "Mars" from "The Planets Suite", an early Crimson improv
ltia73 5 years ago
right, but on the album "int he wake of poseidon" they include it in the multi-movement song "devil's triangle"
gfunkusarelius 5 years ago
I believe this song is called "Starless," not "Devil's Triangle" from the album Red.
highacidity 5 years ago
nop, this is devil's triangle indeed
