My aunt had a child with syndrome of a down and she took him to China. She went to a shopping mall and then asked some strangers to watch the boy while she used the restrooms. She then exited the mall and hopped on a plane back home to the USA. The child is most likely in a foster home now receiving quality care that the USA could never give him.

I'm going to speak my truth, I wouldn't want my child to have down syndrome. You can spin it any way you like, but the fact is they need help more than the regular person. I won't say their retarded because I don't think there's a set standard of intelligence. I think the matter of abortion is entirely up to the parents of the child. But my opinion is that you would be selfish if you don't, simply because you can't handle the stress of killing a baby. I also think it would be better in heaven.

Just because a baby is born with Down-Syndrom, does not ever mean they dont need love. Yes, they may need more help along the way, and they may face more challenges, but there just like you and me, except in a different way. They see people for who they are, not for anything else that may be thrown that persons' way. In a way, a baby born with Down-Syndrom is a miricale. In my own view, God hand picked them, to have something amazing. Something that can not be be bought, but given.

My cousin was a mongoloid. My aunt and uncle didn't want to put him in an institution, so they kept him in a cage in the basement. I used to go down there and watch him for hours at a time. It is one of my fondest childhood memories.

Most people wouldn't be willing to watch him/her, but every day at school, I see some great people who do take care of these diagnosed children. I find it as a way to see from a new perspective, and sometimes I envy them for their happiness and carefree dispositions. I would love my child with Down Syndrome.
