  • I don't understand why this didn't make it into the movie. It would have made it so much better. Awesome!!

  • Wow! 3 days and it's already got 13,856 views!

  • Ive favorited this Video twice from two other YouTuber who have uploaded it and they've both been deleted .

I hope this one wont , it's a good moment , if not as memorable as " No . . . . I am your Father ! " or seeing Vader un-masked just to see his not really frightening underneath that mask of his at all .

    Stupid Copyright i guess = P

  • So, that means vader tought luke how to assemble a light saber

  • awesome! and also there is nothing wrong with making some last minute tune ups on your laser sword.

  • sooooo luke made his saber right before saving Han??? Can Lucas ruin any thing else?

  • Seeing Luke, Mark Hamill, in a fresh scene just blows my mind. Love it, even if it is less than a minute long.

  • Holy crap that was so cool i just had a geekgasim !!!!!

  • its the same F@#$ up that Lucas did in revenge of the sith when he chose not to include the scene where qui gon reveals himself in spirit form to yoda. that scene is where yoda pledges to be qui gon apprentice and tells obi won of the training. Lucas thought it didnt matter and that it was too expensive!!

  • why did they remove this scene? it's supposed to show Luke completing the trials and his ascension to knighthood. it's not like a random scene that does nothing. it's pretty significant.

  • @cero0espada I think they wanted to keep the confirmation that Vader was Luke's father for later in the movie, plus it makes Luke's entrance in Jabba's palace and his first use of the lightsaber during the battle more surprising and dramatic.

  • @oneironaut420 what do you mean confirmation? i'm pretty sure Vader reveals that in the Empire Strikes Back. I get that it wasn't for sure, but still. As for the dramatic part, yea i agree. It was cool.

  • @cero0espada I don't know how old you were when ESB came out, but kids were really debating whether or not Vader was lying. Even James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader, thought it was a trick. It was a classic cliffhanger, and as cool as I think this deleted scene is, it was definitely better to keep the audience waiting until later in the movie to answer the question they were dying to have answered.

  • @cero0espada It was hardly confirmed that Vader really was Luke's father. Vader's a bad guy, he'll do anything to win, even lie. George Lucas purposely made it ambiguous so that people would wonder if it was really true in between movies. Young kids, the target audience of Star Wars, really doubted that it could be true. I remember as a kid, it really did seem like a dirty trick, but then maybe not. Of course if you watch from 1-6, you know from the start that it's true.

  • Why does it take a year to get the 6 films on blu-ray? Come on!

  • It's luke motherfucking skywalker bonehead. He can use that thing with the blast shield down...he doesn't need an unobstructed view.

  • yet again Lucas fucks with canon!!!! Luke built his lightsaber during SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE!!!!!

  • @yaz044 Lucas fucks with canon? LUCAS the creator and father of Star Wars and the true canon, fucks with EU canon. Besides don't you realise that this is a DELETED SCENE from the original cut of Jedi, way way before Shadows of the Empire was released. And the very fact it is a deleted scene might also mean it is not canon any way. But regardless of whether it is or not, Lucas can do whatever he wants to in his own universe.

  • @yaz044 The films are the only true canon. Everything else was written by a slew of geeks trying, mostly in vain, to capture the spirit of the movies. Thank god GL doesn't have to abide by others' works of fiction. The origins of Boba Fett in AOTC, for instance, is MUCH more satisfying and "Star Wars-s" than the "canonical" version that had existed for years.

  • @yaz044 That really is the stupidest comment I have ever heard. Shadows came out in the late 90's and forgive me if i'm wrong but i believe 1983 was a little bit before 1997. Plus Lucas can do what he wants (unfortunately) and the only "Canon" Star Wars stories are written by Lucas. And I suppose Boba Fett's real name is Jasta Meereel!

  • Sheesh, the way that one guy in the audience howled when the camera panned down to the lightsaber was a bit freaky! Are we all so starved that this fairly weak little nugget is enough to evoke that kind of response?

And like Luke, I find that I do my best work in the dark - and with a large cloak further obstructing my view - when I'm assembling delicate electronics.

  • @jazzdude921 Come on, this is never before seen footage of an original Star Wars film, the most beloved of all Star Wars creations. This footage is enough to give you goosebumps if you're a die-hard fan. It's so very ominous. Luke is also a Jedi, he doesn't necessarily need to see what he's doing because he has the force, remember that scene from Episode IV "but with the blast shield down how am I supposed to fight" "your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them". Equally applicable here.

  • @jazzdude921 LMAO I was thinking the very same thing as you about the geeky howl from that guy. Wow, seriously dude...get a girlfriend or something. Imagine sitting in front of this guy at the movie.

Your sarcasm wasn't lost on me. lol

    Hilarious

  • what is this I don't even...

  • never understood why ppl like star wars and star trek or that kind of movies. there really bad..

  • @Fremstrom1 Because you're a faggot.

  • @TwistedNailsOfFaith im not a fag, and why do u care if im a fag or not? were never going to meet each other

  • @Fremstrom1 That's cool, how about you go hop in your Volvo, drive down to IKEA and buy something to go fuck yourself with.

  • @TwistedNailsOfFaith no srsly my girlfriend took her sisters vovlo to ikea, she just got home 30 minutes ago. thats actually true haha

  • @Fremstrom1 HAHAHAHAHA, no way! I was just fucking with you, I didn't think it was true. Jesus.

  • @Fremstrom1 you are retarded

  • @Glidarn94 no im not. for what reason do you say that? are you?

  • @Fremstrom1 why are you here then?

  • Comment removed

  • so what the big deal.

  • @TheHcomment -- The big deal is that your Father was gay. But in terms of this scene, for those of us that give a shit, it's cool to see Skywalker build his own light saber.

  • @whoregay yah you tell tha motha fucka!!!hahhahahaha

  • Darth Vader's lines all sound garnered from other sources, nothing original. I knew this segment had been filmed because of existing background music in the remastered ROTJ Compact Discs. When someone mentioned "a lost scene" I was thinking it would be Vader's attempt to call on Palpatine. He chokes an officer guarding the entrance, sparing him when he learns the Emperor gave orders demanding privacy. Tsk. Keep looking!

  • Whooo Whoooooo!!! It's a lightsaber!! Whoooo!!

  • "Luke...Luke...Luke...Luke...Luke..."

    "WHAT?!?!"

  • why was everyone cheering just becuase he was making a lightsaber? Calm down.

  • @hybridsolution Telling a STAR WARS fan to calm down is like me trying to calm down my 13yr old baby sister and telling not cry(she though she saw Robert Patensen from Twilight in a Mall we're at).NOT GONNA HAPPEN,DUDE!(By the way...she still cried her eyes out,I laughed at her though!Lol XD).

  • well explain to me why it isnt mark hamill? why would they use someone else? lol

  • that's mark hamill's fucked up chin, for sure.

  • thats not mark hamills chin..

  • @eonnoe I thought the same thing. I had to watch it twice and verbally convince myself that that wasn't Emperor Palpatine.
