  • Thanks bcbk93

    I prefer the beer gardens.

  • did you ever get that meter polished to your liking?

  • @jrcstudios

    Yes all done.

  • I would like to know why Doug had to leave that residence so quickly..

  • @weasel2htm

    Aaah, one guess.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio I'm going to guess there was a very angry dog at the residence.

  • Hi Rick. One funny thing I had was the wiring of a village hall acting as a giant loop aerial. I was working about a quarter of a mile away from one of the UK's largest domestic radio stations running at ~ 200KW at 1500 metres at that time. I’d pulled the fuse on a circuit and then I got a burn on my hand from the neutral to earth. When I put a neon screwdriver on the neutral wire the glow was varying in sympathy with the radio volume... wasn’t expecting that one!

    Kind Regards ... Andy

    Hey Andy,

Neat story. RF can do and get into interesting places. And with power, even more interesting. It can seem like magic sometimes.

    Regards,

    Rick

  • I LOVE your stories! I hope you tell us more of them. :)

    ~Cindy! :)

    Thanks Cindy,

I have been thinking about writing another book. If I do, this one would be fun.

  • Ha ha ha nice stories!

  • Thanks PA2OLD

  • Haha I love the cash register one. Strangest electronics problem I've ever had is my studio monitors (Event TR-8's) picking up my radio transmitter directly. They seem to be able to demodulate FM signals around 70MHz and reproduce them in very high quality! My friend has the exact same model of speakers and his pick up the local firemen when they use their radios near his house.

  • Thanks jimbobg65

    Good story too.

  • Yep, I had that happen where I used to live; I could pick up Catholic Radio at 100.3MHZ very faintly through my expensive Klipsch desktop speakers. Sometimes it can depend on how far you live from the transmitter and its effective radiated power.

  • I too loved the pool story, cracked me up. Thanks for the great work and interesting commentary.

  • Thanks jim8395

  • Okay... it was a good thing I wasn't drinking anything while hearing the pool story--I'd have sprayed the display. As it is, I had a good coughing fit from laughter. These are tears in these eyes! ROFLMAO!

  • Thanks batterymaker

Sometimes I think I should write another book on these stories. Of course there are a number of stories that I wont tell on my YouTube Channel. However I have been thinking about telling a few stories of my friend, The Head Cracker Stacker.

  • funny stories, and... nice repair.

  • Thanks SpeakerFreak95
