Guy in red should have won, he's the only good northern dancer in video. Guy in black is trained in modern/ballet - his timing is good but abit too snappy (no real feeling). Its another era and 30 years on i know but i have to agree, these kids could not live with most of the 70,s dancers. My favourite dancer was a guy called jethro from Wolverhampton (i think)saw him regularly at Samanthas in Sheffield and Wigan, the guy never missed a beat fluffed a spin or did anything naff. Also remember the black guy from Leeds, Ceaser, jesus he could put the moves down too.

It is well worth going, was my first weekender in 25 plus years! As for the dancers, all the best original northern dancers never made the final numbers sadly, well except the guy in the burgundy Fred Perry at the back.

I am off to Prestatyn Pontins holiday camp end of February for the next northern soul weekender that I have never been to before, but it comes well recommended.
