I don't recall a certain president making calls to american citizens to check and see if it was okay with us to spend our money on war in a foreign country looking for weapons of mass destruction that was NOT there? As things are today Americans spend twice as much per capita for health care than the closest nation in expenditures per capita for health care. This stuff by the President is so artificial. If your child is a full-time student, they were already able to stay on your health plan until 25. What is one year? Who is going to pay his premiums during this year that "keeps his dream alive"? He is young with no health problems, his premium would not be much more than being on his parent's insurance. The problem is not with insurance but with COST of the actual care provided to people.

This stuff by the President is so artificial. If your child is a full-time student, they were already able to stay on your health plan until 25. What is one year? Who is going to pay his premiums during this year that "keeps his dream alive"? He is young with no health problems, his premium would not be much more than being on his parent's insurance. The problem is not with insurance but with COST of the actual care provided to people.

I have mixed feelings about health reform. I agree that insurance companies should not be screwing over their paying customers when they get sick. On the other hand, I see people smoking, fat people eating fast food and not exercising. I don't think the taxpayers should have to pay for people who don't take care of themselves.
I definitely do not agree with the angry teabaggers posting garbage here though. Even Nixon wanted Americans to have a public option. That is what we need.
