  • Никак не хуже оригинала!

  • this song is more beautiful sung by george ..

  • it's best as a cover but not as a meaning to the sarajevo

and without PAVALOTTI it's not a real

    Mrs Sarajevo

  • @pingulism

Duh, guess you mean "Pavarotti". ;-)

  • U2 who?? George kicked some ass on this one. I listen and it's not a cover. It's original George Michael. Hard to believe it's not his.

  • Beautiful... but still, without Pavarotti this song doesn't have the same power

  • This version has the BOSSA NOVA beat inside it. Great Brazilian Lounge sound. Best!!!!!

  • Great song and George Michael is the best! Go on George!

  • sssssssssaaaarrrrrrrraaaajjjjjeeeeevvvooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3<3<3

  • George Michael can sing anything he wants.....the man always sounds perfect and does it better then anyone else!!

  • music and singing are a rehash of the original, sorry, just spotted this when listening to the Passengers and Pavarotti.

    The Passsengers/u2

  • Pants.....!...and why do people mention the original being 'by U2'? It was Passengers with members of U2 being involved among others!

  • A song for my homecountry and my city Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina... thank you G. Michael

  • brilliant

  • oh every time i listen this music i cry so amazing music never forget this is hit in the world "D"D

  • Try listening without the watching the video, your opinion might change. IMHO this is a bad cover and loses all the poignancy of the U2 version. I also reminds me of Black's track "Wonderful Life"

  • <3

  • Its like Sade in mans body and voice :)

  • @swamigal omg lol! i usted to think when i was little that Sade was george, i thought they sounded alike

  • i was ignorant to the meaning of this song until now, i just enjoyed both u2 an george's version, and for me pavarrotti and georges sublime voices do move you when you listen to them,so i agree that there is a certain amount of poignancy in the inspiration for this song which for me has now given it a much deeper meaning and makes you realise how many innocent people suffer hardship around the world ...........i guess people just like you and me.

  • @GuvnaGeeza you should try further research about this song. For a start, you can hit some vids, such as "Bill Carter on the Sarajevo satellite link-ups + Sarajevo-to-Bologna link-up" OR "U2 satellite link to Sarajevo 11/08/1993" (copy+paste). After that, I am pretty sure you might forget G. Michael ever did a cover of it. I am a big fan of his but I strongly believe that this song in particular, should never ever be covered by any other artist.. Is as perfect as it is the original score..

  • @demie07econ thanks for the info, but i also think maybe you should try further research on mr michael. this man has one of the most sublime voices on the planet and i, like many, am of the opinion that he makes every cover he sings his own like no other, not saying better or worse as that is matter of opinion, but very few artist out there touch the soul with their vocals like this man does, just listen to his version of "love is a losing game".....absolute perfection.

  • @GuvnaGeeza well, I never meant to sound ignorant or ironic; I was just pointing out that this original single is unique, mostly because of the story behind the inspiration and the overall performance. Anyway, music is about one's taste. And, I myself am a huge fan of michael's; I grew up listening to his music - and his voice? Amazing! He is totally worth it to be singing "Somebody to love" in the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, along with the rest of the Queen.. what a great performance!

  • @ezekielbuzi CHILL OUT!!!

  • guys, you are missing the point. it doesn't matter who sings it best, it's about true story, and free spirits trying to live their jeopardized lives, no matter of the siege of Sarajevo, 1992-1995.

  • splendida versione ...ed il video con se...

  • Beautiful version of the U2 song. I prefer the U2 version but this is nearly as good.

  • 14 horrified U2 fans

  • TI AMO GEORGE MICHAEL

  • SO BEAUTIFUL, LOVE MICHAEL!

  • beautiful song!

  • the only good song off george's ( let's face it ), awful ' songs from the last century ' album. i've been a fan of george 's since i was 14 but this album was so bad i brang it back for a refund - i actually changed it for billy joel's greatest hits.

  • @2010carlton Well it is jazzy and classy. It's perfect for a dinner party. I wouldn't say awful.

  • @Lockjaw95 Sort of tune id expect while going up or down in a lift, nothing more than background noise

  • I won't say it's a bad cover, because it isn't. Michael's vocals certainly give a different feel, and I appreciate his lyrical talent. Michael's voice is more emotive whereas Bono's voice seems more sobering. However, without the libretto and what Pavarotti's voice brought to the song, it just isn't the same.

  • @ezekielbuzi typical homophobic

  • @ezekielbuzi typical homophobic

  • @linrobbie Listen fucking Muppet, a phobia relates to one being afraid of something. That is not the case I have friends that are gay, they dirty sods get told its wrong as well so me thinks you are barking up the wrong tree there I mearly do not agree with boning some guy in the arse. This does not take it away from the fact that any guy who has been with woman then turns gay is more fucked in the head than being born to like a man!! Its still a shite cover version of a damn fine tune!!

  • @ezekielbuzi pmsl

  • I don't think it lacks emotion at all, it's just a little more understated than Bono's faux sincerity.

  • This is the best version of this song...in fact George Michael's voice has never been more beautiful than on Songs from the last century., Yearning for another CD of cover versions from the Master Himself...

  • Better than Bono if you ask me.

  • @CBFHVP we didnt

  • This version is much best he u2 version and without Pavarotti voice of

  • you're right, when you said this version is better than that of U2. The voice of George Michael is so smooth that it makes you feel the words instead of just listening to them.

  • Lisette! You can write!!!!! :-)

    Love both artists.

  • bravo george...you did an awesome job....why is it people hate so much... this is why the earth is in shambles

  • @kansasweep è bravissimi george michael spero che in futuro produca altri capolavori.

  • lacks emotion , george just dont cut it with this song

  • this doesnt really work for me, lacks the emotion of the original

  • love this version!!

  • Greetings from Bosnia...thank you George !!

  • I have to be honest.. it's a tie for GM and U2 on this song.. I love the passion and sound done by each artist.. each is so unique and beautifully performed.

  • Song beautiful but come on no one can do this the justice that U2 and Pavrotti can

  • a very beautifull song, george is the best

  • O lijepa, o draga, o slatka... slobodo!

  • Sad to see this in Europe .... I support you united and at peace.

  • The song is really beautiful and George Michael is a great singer!

  • Welll , I'm from Sarajevo . TWO AND HALF years ... 30 months I've spent in that 'MAGICLLY BEAUTIFUL City ., during that .. BLOODY war . I have no clue what is going in ..that leterarly - stupi 'courrt' in Hague ? You know what ..?? By my opinion , there iz .. very serious need that planet SUOULD HAVE

something .. like .. "NUREMBERG" Shortly - Sharply .. This planet .. MUST undersrand there .. 'out tehre' some ..MONSTRES Which are able .. 'with one word' kill thousands !!

  • @1953oma I totally agree son!

  • @1953oma Many of them Croаt and muslim

  • A great version on a par with U2 & Pavrotti, beautifully sung!

  • grn tema de reflexion con george

  • Definitely lacking the opera part, but its an ok cover.

  • Once George Michael sings a song, he owns it. It makes no difference who wrote it or performed it before.

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful version, but Pavarotti's part is my favorite moment of the song. That cannot be replaced by any instrument or sound effect.

  • sensitive, poignant & beautifully sung. Love you, George, don't stop the music!

  • George I like it!!!!!!

  • As a native of Sarajevo, I thank you George Michael for not forgetting us and our city when most the world turned its back.

  • if i was getting married i would have this whole album playing, it's wonderful i love you george xxx

  • So beautifull sung. And so smoth like a babys butt

Waouw i love this version instead of U2´s. Not that i hate U2 though.

  • porfa se manchen con la discusión de que cual es mejor que el otro, disfruten la música y si no les gustó está bien.

  • I can only comment on this beautifull song. I dont understand what you are writing.

  • Les Serbes ont fait le boulot qui sera le notre bientôt DEFENDRE notre terre !!!!

  • So smooth and beautifull sung. U2 is more of a screaming sound for this. This song is relaxed and people wants to listen to it.

  • Me gusta más con George Michael que con Bono...

  • Stop stealing other people`s songs and better spend your time on public bathrooms......Piss off

  • magic voice caliente.

  • Ty George, ty Bono, ty Pavaroti, Sarajevo never forgets!!

  • Neither do I, Mirza

  • Actually sound of U2's version is a bit blured.

George gave it a smooth feel. So this version is pretty close.

  • @DrSequoia

    so true

  • This is the first time i've heard this version thought it was a good interpretation of one of the all time greatest songs, the u2 only version live in Milan is well worth a listen tho

  • No le llega al maestro BONO ni a la suela de los zapatos.

  • Siento si he ofendido a alguien, pero considero que la versión de U2 y Pavaroti es la mejor con diferencia. No era mi intención molestar a nadie con mi comentario. Lo siento.

    saLUDos

    Ah graciAs. Sa Lú 2.

  • Already I have said to you that it(he,she) did not want to offend anybody, but I continue thinking the same thing.

It is not necessary that you answer me, but if you want do it in English. I to read and to write

Certainly I am a man, not a woman

    Thank you

Perdóna por favor el haberte tratado como a una de mis congéneres espero no haberte ofendido por tratarte como lo mas bello de este mundo: La Mujer. Sinceramente no te entiendo si quieres expresarte en español, será mucho mejor. Gracias.

  • how older , the better his voice gets and sounds . like his ballads !

  • hey boys and girls music has allways ben a divider of opinion if you like U2 version thats ok dont come on here and slag George off 1 music is open to interpretion and both artists did the song proud BUT I still prefer this version and want to see a rumba on strictly to George's version ;)

  • Es una canción muy agradecida de cantar , pues con todos queda muy bien, a pesar de tener estilos absolutamente diferentes (U2, Pavarotti y ahora George Michael)

  • George do it much better than Bono.

  • no he does not, nor will he ever

  • this version is much better than that of Bono he kinda talks instead of singing

  • Ironically, George translates others "crap" into beautiful music.

  • Also Passengers were a group including U2 / ENO / PAV and the actual album was a soundtrack for a film that was never made.

  • I think you should stick to you own crap. No matter if it is George Michael or u2 who makes or sing it., It is for the benefit of children i hope.

  • Dont think GM sang it for a particular reason did he ??????

    Anyone know ?

  • face some facts tho: original > covers.

can't have this song without Bono and Pavarotti.

  • Comment removed

  • Way better than U 2 ))Very smooth ..good job, George)

  • Passengers was the name of U2's project with Brian Eno.....Irt wasnt done by a second band at all .... and by the way !!! i wasnt bein an asshole wen i said Pavarotti was a hero

  • But you were being an asshole when you called me an idiot.

  • Luv his spin & version on this song. Anyone picked up on the "Is there a time for East17"~ mush <3 & we miss you! xoxoxoxxo

  • Where is the italian portion??

  • fds que este otario estragou a musica porra

  • Nobody do nothing when all this things happens, and now, years after this terrible and horrible incidents had taken place, is a shame to see that nobody cares anymore about what messages the letters of the song brings.

  • Way better than the original version imo.

  • So ur saying that georgy boy is better than Pavorotti ???!?!?!? IDIOT

  • FYI, the original version was by a group called The Passengers. U2 made a better version than the original, and George Michael improved on it. Pavarotti's contribution did not factor in my decision, so, no, I did not say that George Michael is better than Pavarotti.

  • Miss Sarajevo" is the only single from the 1995 album Original Soundtracks 1 by U2 and Brian Eno, under the pseudonym Passengers. Luciano Pavarotti makes a guest vocal appearance, singing the opera solo. It also appears on U2's compilation, The Best of 1990-2000, and was covered by George Michael on his album, Songs from the Last Century.

  • Amazing

  • George Michael!!!!!!!!!!! you are the bestttttttttt

  • one of my favourites

  • great verscion!! nice job GM!

  • wow I thought I would hate this version...

love the orginal by U2/Eno/Pavarotti but George Michael brings a different but pleasent side to the song.

however i cant shake the feeling that this version sounds like a corny singer introducing some couple at their wedding

  • nice

  • this is much nicer version than the one performed by U2, much nicer. Great job George. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastic version....wow

  • i really love george michael, and when i saw this video here i was excited to hear it. but.. god, this song is amazing.. but his version sucks. it loses it's irony and message cause he croons it so.. errkkk.. cheesily!! sorry george cause you are fab.. but this is not.

  • beautiful version, of a great song-hello, are you listening?

  • truly a fantastic version of this song and i would love to see somone dance a rumba to this on strictly , it just oozes sexiness if only i didnt have 2 left feet :)

  • Unfortunately it does... War is the perfect way to make money, gain and retain the power. That's why it has to be repeated every now and then. This is, unfortunately, the learned lesson.....

  • nothing to say , this song is fabulous

  • volim te sarajevo....!

  • beautiful! one of my all time favorites! george michael brings out the soul of beauty (shattered but still beautiful in its essence) in this song! well done!!!

  • Very gentle and moody cover. Excellent work GM! As always ;)

  • Is there a time for keeping your distance. A time to turn your eyes away. Is there a time for keeping your head down. For getting on with the day. Is there a time for curl and lipstick. A time for cutting hair. Is there a time for High street shopping. To find the right dress to wear...

    DELICIOUS!!!!.....

    THANKS THE BEST GEORGE MICHAEL

  • You say that the river finds its way into the sea And like the river come to me Beyond the borders And the thirsty lands You say that as river As river Love will come ... Love ... And I do not know And pray in ' I do not know love and hope that I do not know to wait

  • Dici che il fiume Trova la via al mare E come il fiume Giungerai a me Oltre i confini E le terre assetate Dici che come fiume Come fiume... L'amore giunger L'amore... E non so più pregare E nell'amore non so più sperare E quell'amore non so più aspettare
  • As good a singer that George is, this lacks the quality of the original.

  • SARAJEVO LJUBAVI MOJA!

  • Im sorry, but this song without Pavarotti isnt the same... if you translate to english what he is singing, you will understand much better why it called Miss Sarajevo. Next time Mr. Lysol ( the king of public bathrooms lol) have a tenor to enjoy you for a better sound. :-)

  • So beautiful made. In my mind GM does it SO much better than U2. It's more smooth and relaxing to listen too.

  • PERFECT !!!!

    U2 PERFECT too...Great song...peace!

  • I didn't know he made this song....

  • i was born in bosnia in 91 and thank god me and my family we survived THANK YOU GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

  • 19DaNg3rOuS91 re

Happy to hear u and you're family survived the terrible war. Why does mankind not learn from previous wars.

  • thx man =)

  • This version doesnt need pavarotti, is perfect, thanks GM!

  • The best version that I can find is from a U2 concert from Montreal in November of 2005. Bono sang the entire song on his own (including Pararotti's part). It's here on Youtube.

You can search "u2 sarajevo montreal" and the best one will be the one that runs 4:28. Should be the third entry.

  • The version U2/Pavarotti is better but also this isn't so much bad

  • Born in vietnam and raised in the USA, as a GI baby i ran out of tears to cry for the suffering that war has inflicted the innocents around the world, all i can do is pray and try to accomplish little things in my community to promote peace and humanity day by day. God Bless us all.

  • rhanks...someone is listening

  • love george...

  • Thanks to George Micheal for choosing to cover this song as well as to U2. Bosnians will never forget the ones who recognised their pain during the worst days. It is very hard to choose one single favorite song, but to me it is this one. It is one single song that never gets old to me and every time makes me think of our suffering during the war, but more importantly it makes me remember the hope, the hope to live normally again. We never lost hope.

  • Miche better than U2's one.

  • George is the real deal a quality act

  • Its does'nt matter wh's an version a better...those's trye's to bid flukeself, how they both singer to see suffer people's of Sarajevo under siege!!

  • love u george...

  • i like the bono voice here more, cause georges`is here a bit too tender. but great too

  • u2 version is better
