@MrClues1 Hi, I created it using a phong material, make sure the colour is set to black and reflectivity is set to full, if you play with the settings from there, you should get the desired effect. At the time I rendered using raytrace so make sure you tick the setting for raytrace. Thanks for the comment :)
Yes, she could only see herself as being fat because of her condition. But once we stopped watching through her eyes, we can see her how she really is
I thought this was really, really good. I'm not sure that the ending was necessary, as I thought that the teardrops in the toilet, followed by the sound of... well, you know, created a much more powerful emotional reaction. I loved the movie, though, and thought that the animation was very, very well done. Great job!
If you have some time, I'd love if you would watch the short film on my page and share your thoughts as well. Thanks :)
Unfortunately, that is true about many girls in the world nowadays.
I love how everything was seen through the looking glasses, and never through her eyes, since she wasn't really fat in real life anyway. It's sad that she thought she was not pretty just because she was "fat." Society is one of the things that causes that nowadays.
@vicanny1 Yeah...I understand how it feels because I've known a lot of girls who have considered suicide because of their weight. The stuff media's been feeding people has a lot to do with that, too. Did you do this based on inspiration of someone/something else or did you just made it up? Great vid either way~ The portrayal through the glasses is really symbolic. :)
@xiahjuice@xiahjuice I did it as my final masters animation, the brief was to research a subject in depth and produce an animation on it, so I chose how the media can have an adverse affect on it's audience.
really nice piece, I was linked by another animator who uses maya. I don't use maya so I won't try and commment on the tech stuff :) but looked pretty good to me, more importantly, perhaps :) is the way you portrayed the suffering and emotions and told the story in an effective and unique way, kudos and 5 stars :)
Wow! Well done! I think this is a great example of how some girls really see themselfs. Keep on going! I like the animation! xxx
