  • One of the best songs ever made!

  • Stratovarius was a great band, Dreamspace is a masterpiece and has an unique sound. After this album the band only has used the same way to do their songs. Don't get pissed with me, it's my opinion

  • We need more quartertones

  • GO IKONEN!

  • its to bad, timo tolkki was gonna get the original stratovarius members together to make a new album titled "return to dreamspace" where he would go back to the old heavy style of the first 3 strato albums, but recently he announced he retired. he has a wife and a dauter, so as long as he's happy

  • @PowerMetalFox73 Man the poor dude's been shit outta luck since he left. It sucks it had to end this way but I won't forget his music with Stratovarius.

  • I find bands that make a story not just music to be truly amazing and inspiring in some cases

  • Not liking the vocalist. Sounds like a weak version of Klaus Meine. Music's good, though.

  • Damn I love stratovarius album art! They are somehow so mystical

  • Makes me so sad in some way. Always when I listen this early Stratovarius I think what could have been done if Tolkki wouldn't had quit singing. Kotipelto is so boring on vocals. Tolkki can get so much emotion to his singing and also his voice sounds much better. And his high notes are something else than just mindless squeaking. Too bad.

  • @Sagittarel you're really alone thinking that Kotipelko is boring, he is one of the best metal vocals ever (he's usually on the top list of many metal magazines), and Tolkki, of course he is good singing, but far better as guitar and of course as a composer, in fact, a virtuoso.

  • @danilokun well, imo Tolkki is better than Kotipelto. There are so many similar vocalists than Kotipelto. Kotipelto didn't bring anything new to power metal. Tolkki managed to bring his dark infuse to music traditionally happy. And this material here is just amazing! + Tolkki can also pronounce English properly whereas Kotipelto can't.

  • whoa!...hahahah..can't get much better than this..heheheh

  • amazing dreamspace

  • I was shocked when I found out that Timo Tolkki has the vocs in this :D

  • 3:11 is where it starts bro.

  • "Dreamspace" is the best Stratovarius album, by far.

Oh, and the middle section in this song is insaneeeeeeee

  • 009 Sound System - Dreamscape LOLLOLLOL

  • @VanderOsbourne2 should i dislike or like this?

  • FUCKING CREAPY SHIT IN THE MID SECTION!!! love Stratovarius tho :P

  • its awesome!!!!! o.o

  • "Looking back through time to my childhood days

I used to have a place where I could escape the reality"

The question is: What is the reality? :))

  • @Xplosive2009 Timo Tolkki's father killed himself in front of him.

  • Transportation Mode: On

  • This song is an ESSENTIAL for my masturbating soundtrack.

  • wow does tolkki hit some high notes in this song especially towards the end very dark and emotional album i loved when i got this album back in 94 phenomenal guitarist as well

  • Timo hiring a singer was probably the best decision he made for his band.....Yikes

  • SHIT!!!! Hear!! that!! drummer!!!! Fuck The SInger!!! xD

  • this song says exactly how i am feeling right now

  • @takanodono take some protein supplements, they solve everything. :)

  • @TrueDansta pathetic

  • Strange to think that current Stratovarius is made of members who are a totally different band.

  • @TrapnestShinigami Yeah but they are still awesome. One thing that's kind of cool is that Tolkki's new band "Symfonia" performed this song live recently, which means there just might be some more live performances of Strato songs from the first 3 albums.

  • @Whackooyzero

Yes, that's a very cool thing because otherwise, these songs might just be never played ever again

  • i will never forget that day back in 1994, i was 16 y.o. when i bought this album and when i first listened to it ,i really got fucked up!!! After 17 years finally i saw them live at 22/01!!!!!it was perfect!!!

many say that Stratovarius without T.Tolkki is a cover band.I believe that the band has the right to move on .besides elisium is a fine album.

  • One of the best intros in metal music. Great!

  • hoooly shiiiit i had an fucking orgasm at 4:51 when tolkki shouts ! Hes so amazing at singing !!!

Btw did anybody notice that the part started at 5:11 sounds like Fear Of The Dark ?

  • @Lirmu1 You Mean When Kottipelto Shoutss :p

  • @MrVcvgls13 Not really. Timo Tolkki (the guitarist) was the singer up to this album. He didn't feel like singing anymore after Dreamspace, so Kotipelto was hired after some auditions.

  • @MrVcvgls13 Nope its Tolkki who sings on the first three albums :p Kotipeltos first album was Fouth Dimension

  • 4:20 King Diamond broke into the studio, bum-rushed the recording personnel, and left his signature mark on yet another album.

  • just listen it at late night in dark... totally crazy.. o.O

  • WOOOOOW

  • One of The Best Songs!

  • anybody know what year this album came out?

  • @ThrashLikeHell I think it's from 1994

  • Totally awesome! A Power Metal diamond...

  • go finland

  • kinda reminds of queensryche just a touch, fantastic song and album

  • Fuckin a. Best song and album ever.

  • you got it spot on. fuck yea

  • awesome intro!

  • the best album of the power metal,"Dreamspace" 1994

  • Great song, one of the best Stratovarius songs ever

  • timo tolkki forever xD

  • oke :D

  • Историческая вещь!

  • I love this album.

  • who's there? mother?

    i crapped myself

  • Comment removed

  • ....la voz de tolkki..... fuck ke chingoneria!!!!

fue, es y sera el mejor de strato...

  • 1:38-2:30 is so sick!!

  • Anyone else notice that this album makes a dramatic shift beginning with this track? The tracks become very surreal and dark, progressively exploring a conceptual "dreamspace", with the curiously enchanting interlude of Atlantis. Abyss is a return to the darkness, with Shattered being a sort of ultimatum. Wings of Tomorrow suggests the uplifting reality of waking from a night of terror.

I understand the titles and lyrics have very different literal meanings, but this is my interpretation.

  • @FujiFlame You're Totally Right I Feel The Same Way!

  • This is an album dont forget, it's got 15 tracks because it's not just a bunch of songs, we wants to express his ingenius thoughts through the form of music. And we get this mindblowing stuff

  • @FujiFlame AAA FUCK ME

i wanted to give you a thumbs up but missed -.-'

anyway just wanted to say that i was thinking on getting this album, but your description really made me want it now xD

  • @FujiFlame ...cocaine is a hell of a drug my friend...jk jk lol

  • @FujiFlame this interpretation of yours is by my opinion correct because the seemingly simple meaning of a song is a result of a feeling you want to express outwards and finds its way through simple words and tunes. Something like a dream which is thoughts taking form through scattered images. Or something like that anyway..

  • Stratovarius is comeing to sweden in february. butttt i can't se them becuse you have to be 18 year's old :O What's up whith that ???

  • @mrhampemoheda

It is more likely to be the laws for

underage, alcohol and that kind of thing...

    By the way, excellent song!

  • @mrhampemoheda they are coming to swedenrock festival its gonna be great:P its in June

  • i love this track!!!!!!!!!!

  • Buena calidad!!!

  • why didnt they keep on doing that sort of sound...so amazing music, lovin it. from france.

  • i like the intro

  • hahahahahohohhohow

  • shit that an asskicking song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MARVELOUS SONG! Tolkki rules! : )

    Fortaleza - Brazil

  • i'd encourage anyone here to check out Pyramaze. Power of Imagination is a good start. enjoy

  • Dude I love Pyramaze I totally agree check them out!!! (I gave you a thumbs up, to get back at the bastards who thumbs-down your comment).

  • Crank it up at 4:12 if it ain't metal its crap!

  • I'm as old school as they come, and this song kicks fuckin' ass!!

  • This f@*king song rocks ass

  • old school rocks.....tolki hansen .kiske..etc...those voices rlz.

  • Tolkki has a great voice. It sort of reminds me of Kai Hansen's from Gamma Ray.

  • great song

  • I only got into Stratovarius a month or so ago when I heard them on my PSPs internet radio thing and now I love them and am still trying to find alot of there songs on youtube becasue there are so many that I lose track of what ones I've not downloaded yet! They areone of the BEST rock bands I've ever listened to!

  • right you are mate

  • Don't think it is rock, i believe that it is power metal or stadium rock

  • Check out Sonata Arctica too! My all time favourite band.

  • You really should buy the albums to help them.

  • dude best song distant skies!!!!!

  • a great fuck'n sound......

  • The Tolkki-era was the best era of Strato!

Their new stuff is good. But THIS is just fuckin' AWESOME!

  • tolkki era rocks

  • para mi lo mejor que han compuesto nunca y mira qtienen calidad, pero este tema supera lo musical es mucho mas

gracias por subirlo hacia tiempo que no lo recordaba:))

    RNWO

  • Ouch, what note does he hit at 5:11?

  • Or at 4:52

  • sol # or G #

  • @metalhiker Whichever it is, I don't think that Koti can do it, with all respect to him as a singer. Kotipelto DOES have (or at least has had) an incredible voice range, but these are NOTES, and Kotipelto is sometimes only squeaking... :)

  • dreamspace is a great cd, this song is truly awesome

  • this album i like the most :)

  • exellent song

  • The people who go on the intenet labeling stuff emo are probably closet emos themselves, teens who want to show the world how tough they are. Exactly what the fuck is emo? Its a shitty music genre as far as i know.

  • the intro sounds like new millennium from Dream theater

  • Which means what? Dreamspace (Frouth Dimension by Stratovaiurs) is from 1995 and New Millennium (Falling Into Infity by Dream Theater) is from 1997, so does that mean that Dream Theater copied Stratovarius? ;)

  • maybe. i never said they rriped some one off. they just sound alike

  • maybe its fucking emo lyrics BUT this song is fucking great so its not important to me. I love my life and I have deep in my ass that Tolkki had a problem in his childhood. Music is for me the most important thing so Stratovarius is genial band Timo Tolkki too.

  • timo tolkki is an abolute genius, and will be remembered as such, no matter what personal issues got in the way of his music...... and no matter what happens, timo will ALWAYS be stratovarius.... anyone who disagrees shouldnt call themselves a strato fan..... now im not saying they cant be awesome without him!, but i really really doubt that they can achieve such masterpieces without him as they did. Still, i love strato, and i cant wait to see them live this year!, its gonna be awesome!.

  • The lyrics are personal yes, and in some way reflect the modern world. That doesn't make them emo it makes them introspective.

  • Just listen and enjoy to the part at 5min 11sec.

  • i have to dissagree even though tokki's voiec is good kotipelto's is better and yes i agree that now a days u cant sing about anything without being label.

tolkki will always be part of stratovarius

  • this whole album has that weird dark feeling to it... The only thing even similar to it that stratovarius has done since is "back to madness" off their 2005 self titled, which other than that a few other songs really kinda sucked. it's kinda dissapointing what stratovarius ended up becoming... twilight time and dreamspace are probably on my top five strato albums

  • Well , I like this song, it's cool

  • Damn, I've totally forgotten how good the early strato albums are, they do get a bit overlooked. Tolkki's voice sounds great.

  • SPEECHLESS!

  • You know what's sad? There's a whole world of morons out there who'd shout "EMO!" at this song...

  • Ur right Raakiszh

this is nothing like all of that breakup song teenage angst bullshit

  • EMO? How so? This is about as far removed from EMO as it gets.

  • una cancion simplemente BRILLANTE por parte de laa mejor banda de power metal de todos los tiempos!

  • min 2.33 habla un alienigena

  • es una de las mejores canciones de stratovarius muy climaticas y oscuras muy bueno ¡¡¡

  • please post magic carpet ride

  • One of better songs of Stratovarius.

  • yes, I agree. This was the Stratovarius I like. Tolkki is a great singer and I much prefer his singing to Kotipelto. This is the kind of weird shit that I like. It's kind of dark.

  • Which is exactly why some idiots would just call it EMO and leave it at that.

My point is that you cannot sing about pain or darkness anymore, without being labeled. Not even Black Metal is safe from the 'EMO'-beam! :P

  • black metal is more emo than most other metal. i love black metal, but many many black metal has this whole 'we are so fucking evil' crap going on.... the least emo metal would be thrash or death i say... no-one will say that germanys tankard or swedens grave are emo!

  • There is nothing Emo about Black Metal. Black Metal is all about creating an atmosphere of evil, emptiness, darkness, coldness and such. Something which Dimmu Borgir fails epicly at.

Because like I said, there is no point in trying to 'measure' the amount of 'Emo' in a genre or band, because there already IS an Emo-genre, and neither Straovarius nor any good BM-band sounds like it. :)

  • emo? what are you talking about?

An emo never can thing about evil, they are thinking "what can I put me on today? the pink or the yellow?"

And never say a band its emo, emo its NOT a musical genre

  • This song... no, the whole "Dreamspace" has many progressive elements, being the most progressive Stratovarius album ever. This album, "Twilight time", and Fright night are all my favorite albums from Stratovarius, the reason being actually Tolkki's voice. If you like Tolkki's voice i recommend all those albums to you : D

  • Definately. Tolkki is a better singer than Kotipelto, which makes me wonder... why does he barely sing at all these days?

He isn't going to sing for RR, and he stopped singing for Stratovarius out of 'creative' reasons. As far as I know, the only thing he's done lately in the singing department is Avantasia.

His voice is really powerful, and it's really a smooth transition from low to high.

  • This song is amazing!

  • I think this was the first Strato song I heard. Dreamspace is their best in my opinion. thanks for uploading this!

  • THIS is the stuff ! No wonder Tolkki has been chosen the musician of the year. Cool melodies / simple yet good songwriting. Something completely different than what Stratovarius has been for the past 8 years.

  • musician of teh year in what?

  • exelente

  • Going back to my dreamspace leaving it all behind

yeah, es la ondaa este disco, que viejos recuerdos, me gustaria que alguien hubiese puesto Thin Ice, gracias aun asi,

y larga vida al heavy metal \nn/

  • i did, look carefully in my channel!

  • Going back to my dreamspace leaving it all behind

yeah, es la ondaa este disco, que viejos recuerdos, me gustaria que alguien hubiese puesto Thin Ice, gracias aun asi,

y larga vida al heavy metal \nn/

  • This song is really great, Tolkki was a good singer too.

  • Man that those final lyrics in the song I couldn't have said better myself.

  • Thanks for this vid, great song.
