I found this video hilarious! Is it your first time driving a manual car? For those who think it saves fuel to roll the car in neutral rather than in gear; you're sadly mistaken. This may be the case for old cars, but modern cars cut the fuel supply when you are not pressing the throttle and will use about the same amount of fuel as it does in idle. Driving in neutral removes your ability to control the vehicle efficiently as the engine doesn't drive the wheels.

@AndyRoddick969 No, but at low speeds like the one in this video there is benefit to putting the car into neutral instead of just leaving it in gear. coasting in fourth at around 25mph will burn no gas at all but putting it in neutral at about 25mph will burn a small amount of gas. Plus when the car is is gear you will have better control over slowing down your car.

Not trying to be a smartass, but when teaching someone, there's a few errors there. Always place your car in the lowest gear (reverse or low/1st) when you park the car. Also, never ride the gear shift lever with your hand when driving. I notice you shift into neutral on occasions, leave that car in gear until you need to shift, because in an emergency you may need to change gears or quickly accelerate in an emergency. Be sure you know the correct procedures before teaching...

@k1llljoy Dude! I parked my car at the mall and I found out that there was a very slight incline because I got out of the car and the car rolled about 5 mm and stopped. I knew that I forgot to set the parking brake and the fact that I locked it in 3rd saved me.

actually i have tested first through third gears when parking. i have found out that i can push the car at third gear with a lot of force, second gear i could rock it back and forth almost a feet. and in first i couldnt even push the car.

It's one piece that actually spans from the right of the receiver to the vent to the left. It mounts on rails and can be easily removed. But the premium sound in this car is great.... replace the speakers and add a amp/sub comb... awesome sound.

but the K series motor on this car can be modified to put out 400 HP non asperated. but ur gonna throw about another 12 grand on this car to make it put out 400 HP.

well the answer is YES you can make any car in the world faster than an EVO 10. its if you have the money to spend on it.

first things u could do is Intake, headers, catback exhaust. or just remove the cat. after that, u can put in a turbo or super charger, agressive cam gears and cam shafts, the possibilities are endless. and u could even do weight reduction on ur car. TONS of stuff u can do to this honda to make it smoke Evo's all day.

When you rev matched at 1:47 into third, you put it into gear than revved the engine? Your shifts seem super smooth, and mine are still just decent after 6,000 miles, although rev hang seems to be non-existent on your car.

1. Don't ever shift into first while still rolling backwards--even if the clutch is depressed, you risk jacking a syncro.

2. For safety's sake, man, keep your car in gear. You have an Si, you're not really worried about fuel economy. Otherwise you would have bought a grocery-getter Civic LX, am I right? ;-)

well its all PERSONAL PREFRENCE on how u drive. there are many ways to drive a manual car.

for me, if its a stop light, i know its going to be red and stay red so i will put it in neutral and brake all the way.

of you can push in the clutch, downshift and brake, and be in lower gears while you cruise to a stop with the clutch in.

or you can down shift to slow down ur car, but that waste gas but u know ur in a gear so u can push on the gas if u need to accelerate.

Why do you put the car into neutral to turn??? Use second gear for right turns at lower speeds and third for left turns... it's a lot more fun, and it is in fact a lot safer. When you take the car out of gear like that, if you had to react in an emergency you would have no throttle, and based on the fact that you appear to be a new driver, there is no way you would get the car into gear fast enough to gas out of harms way. The gas pedal is almost as good as the brake at keeping you out of troubl

vtec stands for Variable Valve Timing with Lift Electronic Control. It's basically like having a more aggressive camshaft that comes into play when when the engine revs up. Btw, awesome car Andy, congrats.
