  • the subtitles are brilliant watching you.,they keep up and gave you three 'a' when you said 'and' in a prolongued manner.{lol}.

    Enjoy your videos.

  • I think scientists need to talk about there work on dimensional portals

  • JWST will remove yet another of god last hiding place (a quite huge part of it anyways) and more importantly give my food for tough and contemplation.

  • ted,,, it is not nice to end your video by saying cool and smart people,,, I know many people that didn't get a chance to finish school and yet they are as smart as everyone else in that meeting,,, I happened to be one of them.

  • Thank you Tony. So exciting; I wish I could be there!! :-)

  • "That is, if your name is KIC...and a bunch of numbers."

    I lol'd. Great line.

  • Could anyone have gone to AAS?

  • More astronomy porn please.

  • Like allways the ending was hilarious!

  • Mr. Darnell, you make good videos...make that AWESOME videos. Keep up the great work!

  • imagine the telescopes in 50 years... wow.

  • i've got a raging spacerection right now.

  • thanks for bringing this to us everyday this week Sir Tony.

  • PS just like downtown.

  • "that is if your name is K.I.C and a bunch of numbers" lol

  • i'm still waiting on that Space porn you promised.

  • @ketfoen Oh come on. That telescope has a hot rack.

  • @KaroKoenich hahaha, so true. :D

  • "sniffing alien air" was not a talk on astronomy but a real problem when i was Travelling back home from christmas on the plane for twelve hours.....

  • Wait a sec.... are you at home? Who's in Austin working the camera? On another subject, just call it Webb. Like Hubble. easy.

  • The guys who found those two new exoplanets must have been visiting the same numerologist ;-)

  • I think just saying James Webb might be less cumbersome than saying J.W.S.T..

  • Thanks for the upload Tony, always appreciated.

  • Cool stuff thx

  • one video each day??!! wow!!! exoplanets, gamma, ray bursts, solar physics...etc.!!!!!!! tony I have a question: what does "just like downtown"?

  • are my speakers dying, or was there static starting around 0:55 ?

  • @TheBetterGame nope audios a little messed up

  • Nice globe...i want one of those too...:-(

  • Yay! Astronomy Overload!!! :D

  • Ahhh Tony where you eating a bag of chips when filming this.

    --

Another great vid by the way... despite my bleeding ears.

  • how many black holes do fit on the head of a pin???

  • My audio is just fine, go figure.

  • Great vid

  • I'll continue to tweet JWST updates out from the meeting. Today, students will have an opportunity to meet with Nobel Laureate (and Senior Project Scientist for JWST) Dr. John Mather. See @jasonkalirai for updates.

  • Where are the "sniffing alien atmosphere jokes"?!! BRING THEM ON!! and prove Astronomers arn't all Spock like anorak wearing boring farts:)

  • The sound makes me dizzy, but its so interesting i had to watch the whole thing anyway...

  • "Comment removed by US Government"

  • Check the audio on your next video tony, thumbs up so he can see this.

  • @TheHemsworthboy Yes, that only appeared AFTER uploaded it to YT. That was not there when I listened on my computer. I suspect it's a setting in Final Cut Pro X that I don't have right. I'll be more careful tonight.

Sorry about that, it is annoying. You wouldn't believe the problems I had last night, that's why it was delayed getting posted.

  • @TheHemsworthboy what's wrong with the audio?

  • to an uneducated eye, that globe would look like a regular beach ball.

  • Watching tdarnell's videos from 5 years ago, he looked older then than he does now.

  • woot space fan news every day .

  • A NEW VIDEO EVERYDAY?!

I must be in astronomy heaven!

  • That looks like cosmic s***

  • did anyone notice he said 'tale tale sings' instead of 'tell' lol

  • i had an overwhelming desire to yell nerdgasm :P

  • YAY!!! new vid!!!

Do you play eve online tdarnel?

  • Sweet stuff...

But a few notes on the sound quality.

    1. Sometimes audio is only coming from the right speaker (guessing you forgot the do a mono to stereo conversion). ex 03:24

    2. There's audio clipping only in the left speaker occasionally, ex 06:15

Other than that its all good. First time the sound quality have been bad in one of your videos.

  • @labobo

yes this video does not score 10 but 9 :D because of the sound

  • @labobo Yes, I've been told. I'll try to be more careful. It appears to be something I have set improperly in Final Cut Pro X. This is not apparent on my computer and only appeared after I uploaded to YouTube.

  • @tdarnell You're a LEGEND!!!!!!!

  • @tdarnell The problem is you're using Final Cut Pro >.>

  • wow, astronomy videos every day are like a fest.

  • Just like downtown..

  • "keep looking up"... i miss that guy.

  • Thank you for this

  • Epic JamesWebb telescope!

  • Fantastic. Thank you Tony!

  • I was back home in Texas from Germany for the first time in 2 years, but didn't know this was going on in Austin- aaaarrrgggghhhhh!

Looks like you enjoyed some fine Texas BBQ and Shiner Bock- good on you!

  • hmm got new Bose headphones, is it my new headphones or the left sound is fishy in the video ?

  • @lucabaracuda987

No I'm getting that too, his recording is just a bit bad.

  • good stuff mate

  • hehe i like how you "kinda" dressed up for the occasion for this video Tony.

    Classy.

  • sweeeeet

  • I have a question that maybe you can answer I was wondering as I was watching vids of CMEs if they can cause the heat wave days we experience here on earth during the summer months ??I anticipate your answer Thanks

  • @cvgeeps CME's are just charged particles that deflect off of the earth's magnetic field, and sometimes get past it. But all they can do is at the very worst wipe out power grids. usually they just dump a whole ton of static electricity in the upper atmosphere.

  • @ItsNotEvenSunny oops forgot to give you the answer. No, they don't attribute at all to global temperatures.

  • thanks for sharing!!!

  • Excellent,Tony, thank you!

  • thirst

  • first!

  • First!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111
