I owned a 1976 Malibu Classic 2-door lt blue/ 350 w/swivel buckets AND a 1977 Malibu Classic 2-door w/305 red with a white landau top- BOTH with Rally wheels from that era that people often get confused for "Corvette" rims. Both of mine had those stackable rectangular headlights that really added this aggresive stance ( along with the powerful engines you can't get in today's Malibus) 78's and newer g-bods felt so flimsy after being used to the 76 and 77.
Right...the supposed 67 is in fact a 66. Damn, the chevelle took a nose dive down the ugly tree, hitting every branch on the way down, after 73....The 2000's shouldn't be allowed to be called chevelles.
Proud owner of a '66 SS396 Chevelle/Malibu. 30 over 400 hp.
the looks didn't bug me after 73... its just the fact that they named it the chevelle during those years, not keeping its legacy in mind, that it had created the decade before
i must say if the 68 or 69 were a beautiful women...i'd have to marry her, FANTASTIC job on the time line you should make a time line of all the bad cars over the years haha
That's just what you think. It's not backed up by cold hard facts like my channel.
That's a matter of interpretation, your opinion is not absolute. Maybe do some research and find out why, maybe find out why they're nearly out of business for their past sins and had to be "given away" to a foriegn company "FIAT".
I would agree that at one time the company didn't but hasn't been that way for quite some time.
But give Chrysler a BREAK. They have had a rough 10 years. They had no money left from daimler, they had to build off of old mercedes platforms, and after daimler sucked them dry, the u.s. went into a ression! Because they had no money, they did their best to make good products. You could make GM or ford look bad for their past problems, but instead you choose to prey on the car company that has been screwed over and dumped by the Germans.
It's NOT Daimler, you need a correct history lesson. After Lee Iacocca Robert J. Eaton was appointed as chairman where HE ran the company into the ground through overly excessive cost cutting and cutting corners leading to serious quality issues, safety defects it refused to cover and an agresssive campaign to reduce warranty expense by NOT covering valid warranty claims whenever possible. Eaton was officially there until 2000 overseeing the transition (merger in 98).
And Iacocca was one of the best chairman ever. I have a 04 Dodge Ram and an 07 Charger. NOTHING has gone wrong with either of them. You know, maybe these assholes running Chrysler right now arnt doing a good job. But its like anything else. doctors screw you over with healthcare and shit like that. I bet if you look at any other car company, they will not cover certian things under warrenty. Every car company goes through rough times. Chrysler will be back and will be better.
Yeah and I had 3 new Chrysler's, ALL POS', while I've owned and continue to own GM's and Fords without the same ridiculous problems and the dealers actually cover valid warranty claims.
Chrysler will be back and better?
Chrysler is already dwindled down into nothing. The company was GIVEN AWAY TO FIAT, a FOREIGN company. Chrysler will be phased out into FIAT, hope you like FIAT's! You didn't hear execs brag about now having FIAT technology and reliability (although still not good).
look man... it is sad that people arn't buying from chrysler... they are just like any other company they have had their bad cars, and their good cars
It "is" sad but the corporate executives DESTROYED the company. This isn't some "just made some bad cars thing".
Familiarize yourself with "Paul Sheridan" who was fired THEN sued for 82 million to try and shut him up, a man who was doing his job as head of the SLT at Chrysler (Safety Leadership Team).
We're not talking about going "above and beyond on safety", just seatbelts that don't allow people to be ejected, seats that don't collapse backward while driving, I could go on forever.
And the worst part about it is to THIS day the company goes on and is allowed to go on while not taking any liability for previous defects (they now can't be sued per their bankruptcy) although GM in sharp contrast agreed to take on any prior liability and stand by their products.
Chrysler had so much defect liability that was crucial for survival.
yeah... it ain't as good as it was... daimler definately screwed them, but the dodge charger super bee... thats a cool car... i would take it over any family car
yeah Chrysler used to be a good company, unfortunately that all changed after Lee Iacocca left and Robert J. Eaton was appointed. Actually "he" was the man who destroyed Chrysler. Daimler did the best they could after they realized they were sold "a bill of goods". All the damage was already in the works years prior, Daimler actually got screwed and by the time the shit hit the fan, Eaton "took the money and ran" so to speak with millions of dollars then by the time of collapse Daimler ate it.
let's hope, and ya know that's what I said to myself years ago (I've been exposing Chrysler for many years) and have witnessed the company change hands twice since but nothings happened, just a lot of talk, claims, marketing, PR, promises now a third time.
With my experience I don't see it happening. Chrysler is one of the most stubborn companies I have ever witnessed in my life, fi not stubborn then oblivious.
I think they'll go out of business before fixing their problems, sadly.
You're right about that, Iacocca was certainly the best Chairman Chrysler EVER had BESIDES Walter P. Chrysler himself.
Iacocca understood that the company's reputation was important and anytime there was a problem he'd often initiate a goodwill warranty program to fix the problems to maintain the company's reputation instead of knowingly and intentionally ignoring issues and continuing them while on top of that failing to take responsibility.
You also know it's bad when a Chrysler spokesman admits that the company needed to shed all present and previous defect liability for it to survive while GM vowed to continue to stand behind it's products and take on any defect liability. Good luck if one of your Chrysler's burst into flames suddenly or something!
In fact theres more footage of newer or new at the time Chryslers bursting into flames suddenly or on fire than GM AND Ford combined!
Tell that to the mob (about the company' being back and better), that was protesting outside Chrysler Headquarts in Auburn Hills MI, victims, people who've lost legs, been seriously injured, had famly members die, lost children due to known safety defects who now can't sue because it refuses to be held liable for past or present (at the time of bankruptcy) safety defects it knew about.
Again, in sharp contrast GM will take on any past or present defect liability. Says a lot about Chrysler!
They did their best? No they INTENTIONALLY DID NOT DO THEIR BEST knowingly for greed so people like Robert J. Eaton could line their pockets and make the company appear more profitable so they could sell it off and get paid off in millions.
Chrysler has more defects it refuses to take responsibility for than GM and Ford combined, NO ONE can make GM and Ford look as bad as Chrysler.
The Germans were sold an already sinking ship and Eaton jumped just before it was about to start sinking. Daimler (Mercedes) was interested because of how much profit Chrysler was able to make per vehicle and they wanted to adopt the same practices but little did they know what lenghts Chrysler was going through to make that much per vehicle and when Mercedes tried to apply this to Benz AFTER the merger it's quality sank to nearly dead last! They dumped it after realizing it was a lost cause!
I WILL NOT GIVE CHRYSLER A BREAK, get an ACTUAL history lesson!
"Prey on", whatever, you're a knucklehead that doesn't know anything! Just what you "think" you know!
Chrysler decided to keep doing business the same way, screwing people over acting as though this stuff couldn't be exposed and if there was no such thing as the internet. This stuff might have worked for Eaton earlier on but word eventually gets out and people won't buy their products. It caught up with them!
Before shooting your mouth off, visit my channel and learn something?
I'm sick and tired of knuckleheads on YT and giving history lessons. Make comments but never go to the channel, read, watch and learn before shooting their mouths off because they think they know it all.
Watch my ABC Primetime videos about Chrysler Unsafe Seatbelts in 14 Million Vehicles where passengers could be ejected and Chrysler witnessed it in crash testing and Brake Shift ALL WELL BEFORE DAIMLER!
respect due 2 the chevelle, i think gm should bring back that nameplate and apply it 2 a droptop malibu since pontiac is gettign phased out, and the g6 and malibu are built on the same chassis
and so, we whitness the down fall of an american classic

The Chevelle was awesome until 1970. In 1971 its designers digged its grave...in my opinion the Chevelle SS 1970 was the best.
