In this Rigoletto, conducted by Karajan, H.Güden and Aldo Protti this was the top of all. Aldo Protti had standing ovations and "Bravo"

for minutes and not only by the end !

The people in Vienna Statesopera are very strong, but wise and correct. Sutch ovations here to get is a very hard work for the actors, but when sutch top is reached, then are here always great ovations. Callas-Lucia was only a well applouse but also some pipes. This people here is well but also very strong.

Protti non é male,ma il n° 1 é e rimarrà sempre Tito Gobbi!!!Aldo é troppo melenso,manca di enfasi,non si sente il desiderio di vendetta del Rigoletto di Gobbi....mi dispiace per chi pensa il contrario!!!

I effetti è innegabile che Gobbi avesse un'altra intensita sul piano emotivo, ma Protti ha una tecnica molto più saldo, che gli permette di non avere buchi nella voce e di avere un'assoluta uguaglianza nei registri nel rispetto mirabile del legato!!!!

Y had heard him with Hilde Güden in Vienna opera under Karajan. He was the greatest Rigoletto y ever heard ! Many years before y heard often a wonderfull Rigoletto with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Oegl. This was the "normal"Ensemble at Vienna opera between and short past the war. Also Schwarzkopf was the TOP and Oegl was ever very well singing and playing, but Aldo Protti was happening but once.
