Out of all the skits on all the different comedy shows this one is my all time favorite. I was in the Army deployed somewhere when this show came out and my wife recorded every episode for me but the poor piñatas skit will always be my favorite!
I remember when this first aired. I think this was the closing skit of the episode. I was too young to really get it. I remember hating this particular skit. This being one of the skit I remember many years later. But watching it just now, I see how funny it is.
The show *was* a bit repetitive. The producers of FOX went to John with ideas to "improve" the show. 1 way was by changing his Latino cast. John, naturally, wasn't having that. So, the producers never signed for a 2nd season.
I shutter to think what they had in mind that would've "improved" the show. I mean, they compared it to 'In Living Color" -which was Black humor. 'HoB' was Latin humor. There's a difference.
Wow! Brings back the memories of the '90's. Back when the future didn't seems so far away!
Very nice job! Keep up the great work! Thanks for posting! A++++++++
Have a great night, a great day tommorrow, a great week, a great month, a great winter, a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and a Happy New Decade. All the best in 2010 and beyond! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!
im not hispanic..but i heLLa loved this show...it has given me the sense of humour that i have now..i love john...and the minute men...love that shit....
Damnit, in 1994 there was nothing else on TV that was so Hispanic-oriented. At the time, I was 11 years old, Hispanic, and growing up in an all-white area. House of Buggin' FINALLY gave me something I could relate to, and I was happy!
I watched EVERY episode, and was PISSED when they cancelled it. And contrary to what some have said, I did NOT find this show stereotypical or racist at all.
I would buy the entire series on DVD in a heartbeat.
I was a Living Color fan when this show came out, and I thought it was like a Latino version of Living Color, which I thought was cool---plus I thought John Leguizamo was a real cutie at the time. I wondered why the show didn't last but a few episodes---it was a refreshing change to see a Latino comedy show for once. I still like JL as an actor though, and he seems to have barely aged since then---I always thought he should have had the leading role in George Romero's LOTD.
lol yeah mine too..i remember when i saw this skit as a kid..i fell off the bed from laughing so hard..i wish i could laugh like that again..those were the days

@CoHScrapper according to his current autobiographical stand-up show 'Ghetto Klown' the show was redone and turned into MadTV.

According to Leguizamo, they fired everyone from the cast, including him, and repackaged the show as Mad TV.
