I truly love your video. It's very educational. I've always been thinking of starting a radio station some day. I just found some basic stuffs that I need to launch my station. Would you be able to tell me how much I should be looking to spend on equipments alone? Would you also list them here for me? I have researched licensing expenses and am aware of royalty expenses too.
HI...should be able to find something easily enough - plenty of suppliers out there, and that is part of the problem. You need to make sure you're dealing with reputable companies, particularly if you're in the education market. Sadly there are suppliers who will sell regardless of whether you need it, and persuade you so. It just needs a little caution. Bear in mind as I say in the video, this studio is already out of date even after just a few years.
Hi...please forgive the long delay in replying. An unwelcome bout of pnuemonia (!) has laid me very low for around three months. Never been particularly ill in my life before so it's been an unusual experience.... Anyway...to your question.
Most of the equipment was supplied by TotalAudio Solutions in the UK which sadly has fallen victim only recently. It has resurfaced as Total Audio Projects in Worcester in the UK. I am always careful about suppliers - some 'supply' regardless of whether you need it or not. These guys do listen and talk through what you actually need. Dont have a contact number anymore but a Google should do it. I know it still works a treat and will be used for a school RSL project on FM in July.
