  • peter dunne makes hone look like the ignorant, racist fool that he is! lol, that was awesome!

  • i fucking hate horis

  • I've seen debate up close n he does more point n counter point than debate - will probably try harder now that he is the lone ranger and a sell out by pd is still a cab

  • whatever - dunne is done and is still a cabbage

  • Slams?? more like Yawns. The only thing Pete can slam is the car door and even that is a bit limp. Peter Dunne is the lame version of Winston Peters, the Jim Anderton of Boring Politics (and that's really saying something!!)

  • You obviously don't know much about political debate in the house. Peter Dunne sledged Hariwira in a very cleaver way, such that he would not need to appologise for it. Sadly Hariwira tends to be slightly more blunt, and is often forced to withdraw and appologise as a result.

Perhaps more importantly, I remember Peter Dunne getting some media coverage over this, which is the real objective of any politician.

  • Political debate in the house?

ive seen more school yard tactics than serious debate,

i mean that in the way mps never awnser questions directly, its like they need a teacher to tell them "no dont point at timmy im talking to you mr Dunn"

Hone is a straight talker and the spin doctors can have that.

Media are just crap, if they wer so good we wouldint be on youtube looking for the real story so your right bout that.

  • i have no problem with that just the way they have gone about it, maori have no problem with white nz only the crown and just the crown. another problem is that white nz back the crown in most cases which only degrades ourselves we need to think more on a bicultural basis and make nz a culture identidy that the white races of other countrys will envy!!

  • The problem with new zealand is year of oppression maori has recived from colonisation everyone alreay knows that. the maori problem is that maori have became the junior partners with the crown and the white new zealanders lack cultural identidy and they are borrow things from maori.

  • Incorrect, the problem Maori face in NZ is education: about half of Maori leave secondary school with no qualification. This results in their higher unemployment, greater involvement in crime, lower standards of living, etc... Unfortunately there is little any government can do to solve this: Maori need to take it on their own shoulders to ensure their children stay in school and to take an interest in the "hard" subjects such as science and math, in order to raise their standard of living.

  • exactly right, there is little government can do to change the situation over education. The current education policies government implement still fail any significant progress. legislation will still be in the hands of european parliamentarians and lobby groups, and input from Maori will be minimal... a token gesture of good will and nothing else besides.

  • Kia ora Hone! Kia Kaha!!

  • New Zealand is a racist country. There doesn't need to be politicians to prove that point. You only have to look at the 'Mel the Maori' clip a few pages down to see just how pakeha stereotype Maori.

  • Respectfully sir, your statement is hypocritical: You label all "Pakeha" as racist because of the actions of a few. Hence you are the racist, and so is the moron who voted you thumbs up.

  • Oh i've seen enough crap this year through the media, through comments from people in general, to definitely become someone who stereotypes pakeha. Your comment above how we have to take it on our own shoulders (which most of us are doing) is a typical cop out. Funny, people say lets be 'one New Zealand' but let the Maori clean up the historical mess we put them in.

  • Perhaps you'd like to give some examples of this 'crap' in the media? Or more importantly how the govt can fix the 'mess we put' Maori in (particularly with regard to education)? My point in the previous post was that with education there is only so much an external body can do if individuals don't take learning seriously. That is at least short of the Aussie model - send in soldiers, confiscate booze, force into re-education camps - which I'm sure you'll agree is undesirable.

  • Peter Dunne? Is he and his do-nothing waste of time party still around? Give dunne a pulse

  • Do nothing? More than $3 billion over four years in business tax reform is doing nothing? Removing tax from charitable donations is doing nothing? Successfully extending the reach of daylight saving is doing nothing? You really should get out more and pick up on what's really happening in the world, sunshine.

  • Yes yes, all worthy things that nobody cares about. Harawira owned Dunne in the chamber. Harawira is by far the better orator and articulates his points far better than Dunne.

  • @wairarapakid All those things are not going to help raise children out of poverty or tackle the many social issues in this country that Dunne has said he will tackle-Dunne is a waste of space and he is Dunne-for at the next election!

  • sugapepelo you have to be joking. I suggest you actually read the transcript of Harawira's and Dunne's speeches from hansard. While you're at it review Harawira's speeches in general. You will find Harawira to be incompetent, frequently embarrassing by failing to understand standing orders. He makes irrelevant speeches that kindle racism and urges Maori to pursue a victim mentality instead of showing true leadership by indicating how Maori can improve the standard of living for their children.

  • Owned!

Hone Harawira and the Maori party are the ones setting race relations back 100 years. Peter Dunne = legend.
