He considerably had the most dominating performances against fleets of the worlds best GMs. During his time he was the best player. Tal pushed chess to new levels Fischer did so too. then Kasporov mastered the game some more.. But My ranking would be 1. Carlsen 2. Kasparov 3. Fischer .

Times haven't changed. 30 minute games are still considered "rapid" at the top level. Blitz is in a league by itself.

@IBOUGHTYAMOM I would agree, but Kasparov's peak rating is higher than Fischer's. You can't dismiss that they're both excellent players.

I don't think you understand how the ELO rating system works. I'm nowhere near good enough at chess to say who is better of Kasparov and Fischer but I'm a good enough mathematician to tell you that comparing ratings between players from different times is next to useless. ELO rating measures your playing strength as compared to the other players you're playing against, nothing else.

@rapsarG That explains why so many people believe Bobby Fischer was better than Kaspsrov, inspite of Kasparov's ELO. I guess in some situations a rating can be OVER rated. Lol

@IBOUGHTYAMOM I think he meant bishop to f5 being a very rare line, and it is. According to my opening database, that position has been played a little over a hundred times in professional play, this game being the 21st time.
