If they want to go larger I think it would be a better choice to go to a small displacement V8, like 4.3 or 4.5L. Keeping the big bore short stroke design. So it would be responsive, fairly compact, high revving and powerful

I used to sell RX-8s. They are over a second and a half slower in the quarter and although they handle beautifully, the 370z does too and it has more power. Guess that accounts for the poor sales of the Mazda. All kidding aside, the Mazdaspeed6 gives the RX-8 a run for its money and it can carry your kids too. I am not sure what Mazda is trying to do with the RX-8, but they may want to try something different.

Firstly, that was a joke about the plastic. Think about this, the 370z is around 1000 pounds lighter than the mustang, has 15 more horsepower, and runs the same 13.5 as the mustang? Sounds like to me, that the mustang is performing better than it. I think they should compare it to the SHO because they both use v6's. And if you still want to compare a mustang, next year's v6 mustang generates 305HP with a 3.7L. But with that aside, mustang is a better performance vehicle than the 370z

The new 3.7 Mustang will be good competition to a 2003 350Z, that's about it.
Japan just finds V6's at around 200-300 bhp is good enough for most people. They focus more on quality vs quantity unfrotuntley, but has its benefits. If Japan wanted to, they could easily make a 700 bhp V12 engine, and blow Everyone away, but they choose not to. Also, they tend to focus on family cars. Not to mention, they threw in an Acura in the professional race durby, and it was toying with everyone. Killed Porche etc.. Mind u, that Acura was putting out at least 4-500 bhp.

Most high output 4 cylinders output that much. With an engine like that the car should be much faster. I must say though it is a sweet looking car..pretty sad though that the 2010 Cobolt SS with the factory engine kit can keep up with it.
First, it has 332hp, not 320. Second, the 370Z has a naturally aspirated engine. Even with its supercharger, the Cobalt (which isn't even in the same league) is 72hp shy.
Haha wow you're a funny one. Firstly it's actually 332 horsepower and it's extremely efficient. The mustang GT with a .9L larger engine produces less horsepower. Secondly, only TURBO 4 bangers would even dream of hitting that much horsepower. Nothing stock has as much. And I'd say a 5.0 second 0-60 and low 13's 1/4 mile is pretty fast factory. It also handles extremely well and is the best bang for your buck given the price range.

Wow not even the BMW 3 series coupe, Infiniti G37 coupe or Audi A5 coupe has this many youtube VIEWS, even if you summed all the views of the three together!!! This difinetly says something about Nissan. Im an Infiniti owner and Lover but this Z is beautiful to. 627,650 for a video review is pretty good in my book, that means the Z is getting alot of attention regardless if its positive or negative. I used to sell RX-8s. They are over a second and a half slower in the quarter and although they handle beautifully, the 370z does too and it has more power. Guess that accounts for the poor sales of the Mazda. All kidding aside, the Mazdaspeed6 gives the RX-8 a run for its money and it can carry your kids too. I am not sure what Mazda is trying to do with the RX-8, but they may want to try something different.

Firstly, that was a joke about the plastic. Think about this, the 370z is around 1000 pounds lighter than the mustang, has 15 more horsepower, and runs the same 13.5 as the mustang? Sounds like to me, that the mustang is performing better than it. I think they should compare it to the SHO because they both use v6's. And if you still want to compare a mustang, next year's v6 mustang generates 305HP with a 3.7L. But with that aside, mustang is a better performance vehicle than the 370z

@dane500KR Sounds to me like you don't know what you're talking about. 3600-3300=300lbs, not 1000. The weight difference is cancelled out by the extra torque in the mustang. So both cars get 13.5. Omg, amazing, right?
The new 3.7 Mustang will be good competition to a 2003 350Z, that's about it.

Japan just finds V6's at around 200-300 bhp is good enough for most people. They focus more on quality vs quantity unfrotuntley, but has its benefits. If Japan wanted to, they could easily make a 700 bhp V12 engine, and blow Everyone away, but they choose not to. Also, they tend to focus on family cars. Not to mention, they threw in an Acura in the professional race durby, and it was toying with everyone. Killed Porche etc.. Mind u, that Acura was putting out at least 4-500 bhp.

Look at these fools giving me -2 mark lol. Look at the Nissan GT-R, A V6 480 bhp engine, and it still came close to Porche, Corvette ZR1(671bhp), and Ferrari 599GTB. And I mean close, really close. Those cars are putting out over 500-600 bhp V10/V12 engines, and the Nissan was still close! And, its Nissan to top it off, low end of Japanese cars compared to Honda, Toyota etc.. Gimme a break ppl, face the facts, once Japan starts with sports cars, competition is done. Mark my words.

First, it has 332hp, not 320. Second, the 370Z has a naturally aspirated engine. Even with its supercharger, the Cobalt (which isn't even in the same league) is 72hp shy.

Haha wow you're a funny one. Firstly it's actually 332 horsepower and it's extremely efficient. The mustang GT with a .9L larger engine produces less horsepower. Secondly, only TURBO 4 bangers would even dream of hitting that much horsepower. Nothing stock has as much. And I'd say a 5.0 second 0-60 and low 13's 1/4 mile is pretty fast factory. It also handles extremely well and is the best bang for your buck given the price range.

Camaro is a completely different animal than the 370Z. 370Z is a 2 seater sports car built for track. Camaro is a drag car built mainly for straight line, but also can carry people in the back. I guess it depends on what you're looking for.
