Samsung i8910 HD Omnia video & game test

The Asphalt 4 doesn´t use the 3D graphic accelerator because this game is made for the Nokia N97 and 5800 that just doesn´t have it !!! This is the problem, why the game is not so smooth. Check my videos and you will see what I mean. I´m playing Quake 3 Arena PC version without problems (only integrated maps)

Look at the comments, a few have found it helpful. I'd say it's better than nothing, so quit complaining. It's mainly for FPS count anyway as I said.

yeah, but I like watching movies, taking pictures, and hooking up to my computer wirelessly thorugh DLNA support. Plus the OMnia HD has something called a FLASH.

take that to chew on before you spill your biased opinion on the iphone. Looks like the snake has conjured the masses to take the bite of the Apple.

Honestly the 2 are about as good as eachother. Both have laggy interfaces, but the Hero seems to have more customizable features. i8910 has a better camera, and if anyone cares about the games, it can run them great if they are specifically made for it. But no multitouch feature just makes them fail.

I use my phone as a phone, with occasional pics/vids.

Well it depends. If you want a good phone with an awesome camera (but not the best flash out there) with all the features you could wish for, and don't care for gaming this is the phone for you. If it's the other way round and you love gaming (i got an ipod for the app store which is AMAZING) and you don't care about the crappy camera and you want the best interface, iphone wins.

I considered it but it costs 59p on ipod. And I'm not into the arcadey racers much. but the point was that every game that came on the phone runs like that, while every game on the ipod touch runs very smooth (well, the quality games).

You can get games for this phone which probably run great (as the phone has more gaming power than the ipod), but I'm not into gaming on it so I haven't tried them out. Plus the lack of multitouch puts me off.

I love the picture quality on the i8910. The best phone I've ever owned. Don't think I'll be changing it any time in the near future. Reasons being I'm on a two year contract. =] But I think I'll be keeping it long past that.

And as regards top the video length. I have Watchmen on mine 2 hours 45 mins and plays fine.

If you debrand it to the Italian firmware too you get better widgets. But useful ones like WiFi widget is really handy. And also get Brain game and poker as full games.

Hi, how fast did it manage to copy that double episode of lost (700MB file i assume) to its internal/external (micro SD) memory.

Also could you test how fast it can get a GPS lock.

The omnia hd actually has a better GPU than the iphone. The reason this game isn't all that great is because it's a ported version. It's actually not been developed properly for this phone but just installed on to it. Search for Kroll om omnia hd or need for speed then you will see how great the games are compared to the iphone

I'd love to be able to agree, but I just don't think they ever will, cause the iphone/ipod touch has multitouch and I'm always playing games on it. They're really fantastic for games to be fair.

That's because it's being played through a camera phone through another camera phone :P The sound quality on this phone is absolutely outstanding. You're just going to have to trust me on that. I can't say the same about the sound recording quality though :/
