  • It is a shame the event was cancelled but, as one woman competitor said ,she and others were blown over in hurricane winds on the mountain tops and in those dangerous conditions only a fool would have carried on .Mind you ,i can also understand the sense of achievment in enduring such conditions can give in surviving the worst nature can throw at you .

  • I can see why he (agryslate mine man)could be annoyed: loads of wet cold people turning up asking to pay for cups of tea \ hot chocolate...

To be fair they get this alot up there(I have had to go there for help before), Its a bit of a refuge in bad weather. But FYI everyone should go to the youth hostel in future they sell beer there.

glad to hear everyone got back safe see everyone next year.

  • unfortunate weather conditions, i am really dissapointed on the comments made by mark wier of honister pass slate mine who is using this situation as self promotion, and last night had adjusted his web site to make him self the saviour of the day....why didnt he use his web site to show the names of the people taking shelter at the mine, instead of slating (pardon the pun) the event organisers on the media......

  • I can see why it was cancelled. Such a shame, home safe everyone.

I see the national media has picked up the wrong end of the stick and started to beat us all about the head with it.
