Another #1 hit for The Man in Black on the Country & Western charts. It was the 201st #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. It was also the first new C&W #1 song of 1971. It also hit #1 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks charts. It also hit #23 on the Canadian RPM Adult Contemporary Tracks charts.
There's a movie that goes along with this song and other of his songs; about a sheriff that falls for the young woman. Gregory Peck was the actor. Anybody knows the name of the movie?
@2oldfashgrl For what it is worth, holler if you catch it again. I have directtv but have not been lucky enough to run into it. The new "I walk the line" is not the same as the old one from 71'.
@thefreedieyoung It was on in the daytime about 4 or 5 days ago. I'm afraid I don't know the channel, but it could've been AMC. I tried to find it on here in "You Tube", but didn't know the name until I looked up Gregory Peck's career on "Wikipedia"! The whole soundtrack was by Johnny Cash, and I just had to find the songs! I actually thought it was done much earlier, maybe about mid-sixties.But G Peck had quite a lot of dark hair, and Tuesday Weld still looked quite young!
I love this song, thank you very much for the video! A little criticism though, when you put lyrics, it's very difficult to follow font colors that are not highly contrasted with the background. (eg. white font on a bright blue sky is hard to read). I watched this with my 4 year old, and there was no chance of him being able to keep up. Excellent quality anyways, thanks again!
