  • Why didn't i see this before!! Must. See. Now!

  • Looks entertaining.

    :D

  • "I'm the new postmaster!" *yay, happy face*

    ...

    "I am SO sorry."

    this movie is gorgeous xD

  • Stanley is so cute!

  • If you like pterry's work, be sure to check out the discworld mud. A text mode adventure game that's been in the running for more than 20 years now.

telnet discworld. starturtle. net or the same address on h t t p . Because no special effects can compete with the wondrous world your fantasy can dish up. ; )

  • which book is this based on as i've only just started reading the series. i've read guards guards and men at arms. they are soo good.

  • @pippylunalove It's based on..... *drumroll*..... Going Postal! Moist appears as the main character of two of the novels in the series, and this is the first of those.

  • @shadowlord1990 thank you! roughly how many books after men at arms is it? cause then i'll get my dad to find it for me and give it to me. yes he has all the books.

  • @pippylunalove Men at arms is a fairly early book in the series, somewhere around the tenth to be published, whereas Going Postal is a later book, maybe the 30th or so. However, there is not much you need to know from the other storylines to follow it as it's a fairly distinct story.

  • nice trailer

  • where is the golden suit?

  • @TheBellacesca I disagree. I've read the book and I love this movie. In order to adapt a book into a movie you have to change a lot of details. I personally think they did a fantastic job; the acting was amazing and there are some parts of the movie that I wish were in the book and visa versa.

  • @TheBellacesca I've read the book twice, am currently listening to the audiobook version, and I love this movie. Charles Dance was amazing as Vetinari, and on the whole, I'd give it 7.5 or 8 out of ten.

  • @TheBellacesca

Yeah, I know what you mean, but this is a problem with most media being translated to another media (like games to movies, comics to tv series), but I enjoyed watching the movie as a separate continuity, and I had fun watching. :P

  • This movie is awesome, and just proves something that I already knew, CGI is not the most important thing in a movie, just look at this one, its better than most crap that have "good graphics" nowadays , I rather watching this nice movie than that crap Skyline movie.

  • sorry to say that the trailer doesn´t look to good...still going to watch it, though^^

  • Hello, fans of Terry Pratchett!

I begin to write symphonic music. I knew about him from screen version of his first Discworld`s novel "The colour of magic". Since then I had read half of his books. I didn`t remain indifferent and wrote the number of symphonic suite "Images" - Absurd Discworld.

I suggest your attention the video with my music on my channel ra2006ra "Pratchett" or h+t+t+p+:+/+/+w+w+w+.+youtube.com/watch?v=6NbM0faHptk (delete all "+").

  • Because of some cause servise of youtube don't let the possibility to send video-responses more than one time. I can`t hear your applause, that's why don't estimate my video if my music is liked you. If my music is liked you, help me to spread it to your friends.

I hope you'll like my music, that's why this music was written for you!

  • @ra2006ra Hey man, I haven't been on youtube for a while. I heard your piece, and quite enjoyed it. However, I'm having some problems with the site, and I can't get your video up. Sorry for the delay mate

  • @ra2006ra ...beg pardon?

  • @Jewelita13

  • Moist von Lipwig is my favorite character; at least in the books. I suppose the movie is worth a try too. Is it?

  • @Abelhawk I certainly think so.

  • I liked the Vetinari of the color of magic. (film, of course.)

  • I love the way Adora says "no". : )

  • Neither rain nor snow nor glo m of ni t can stay these mes engers abo t their duty!

  • am reading going postal atm and its a brilliant book.........terry's a genoius........and this series looks like a must see!!

  • They can keep their Hollywood productions, let me act in a goddamn TERRY PRATCHETT !

  • 1. Vetinari should have been Jeremy Irons as he was MINDBLOWING AWESOME in "Color of Magic".

    2. I'm buying the dvd as soon as it comes out. I haven't seen this at all but I KNOW it's going to rock!

  • @CaptEoNinja83:

Even though I like Irons a lot he was quote disappointing as Vetinari and overaction a bit like he often does. He acted Vetinari, Charles Dance WAS Vetinari.

  • i am so ashamed to be called a fan when i don't know about this! ahhh!!! a must watch!

  • Oh my gods - So this is what happened to Richard Coyle... I *have* to watch this!

  • @happysack1 He wasn't in that book though, was he? I thought he only appeared for two paragraphs after the explosion at the post office fire.

  • I love the Discworld Novels. :)

  • I hope they keep up this quality when they make more movies of the bood ;)

  • 6 people got a bite from Angua

  • i like this movie<3

  • BREASTS ! XD

  • @DarthCane Gotta love Jeff!

  • Such a great movie , it fucked with my mind xD REALLY loved it the acting was great and Mr. Pump is such an entertaining character !!

  • 0:43 !!

  • @JunkieSmurf ??

  • @onehans66 eh, i thought it was terry pratchett hahaha

  • I love the books but some how the movies don`t do Terry much good.

  • “Who will listen to the dead? We who died so that words could fly demand justice now. These are the crimes of the Board of the Grand Trunk: theft, embezzlement, breach of trust, corporate murder

there was no safety. There was no pride. All there was was money. Everything became money, and money became everything. Money treated us as if we were things, and we died. Blood oils the machinery of the Grand Trunk as willing, loyal people pay with their lives . . .

  • SKY shouldn't have touched this story with a stick! A plot concerning the abuse of monopoly power wasn't going to survive and this was slaughtered! The cast did their best but Vetetinari doesn't have a scorpion pit deep enough for the script writers.

So corporate power is OK really it's just one dimensional pantomime baddies like Reacher Guilt?

I'm really surprised TP let them have this at any price.

  • the book is dope, hafta watch the movie.

  • Just Brilliant!!

  • I was expecting a Cat+Assault Rifle combo

  • @kungisans On Discworld?

  • It could only be Terry Pratchett.

  • damn it....I always picured Moist as the guy from the cover of the book...they really should give him a similar look...anyway Im looking forward to see this one! :)

  • miss dearheart was magical

  • David Suchet as Reacher Gilt is probably the best casting of the 21st century.

  • is this suitable for kids?

  • golden suit?

  • Finally a decent Pratchett adaptation

  • @kamatej YMMV I like the book better by far. (And the movie opens some big continuity errors if they ever go and try to make Making Money into a movie. :( )

  • I'm the only one who excepted running with scissors's postal??

  • @cazum17 No DVD's for Americans.

  • I can't wait to see Going Postal. I must admit, the Colour of Magic was a little disappointing. I never really saw David Jason as Rincewind, I thought Nigel Planer could do it better.

  • @cazum17

I want to watch this movie, but i can't find anywhere to watch it.or get it.

  • @frinnahful in the UK? Try HMV or Morrisons, I saw it in the latter for about £12

  • @KingRaven101

    no, in U.S.

  • Yep, it'll be the "Terry Pratchett weekend" for me. I've got myself a Good Omens book and this movie. Now all I'm missing is popcorn.

Is it just me, or is that golem looks a lot like an alfa version of the Thing from Fantastic Four? He's like a bad copy.

  • Shame, if this was done like the book instead of overacted slapstick humour it would be brilliant. Would still quite like to see it though :)

  • First of all I am disappointed in the golem. It looks like it’s made from dirty pillows rather than baked clay... Adora Bell Dearheart is as hot as I imagined her though

  • Does anyone know if Going Postal is posted up under any name on yt? I want to watch it!!!!!

  • Hells yeah.

  • Where can I watch this? I seriously want to see if it lives up to the book.

  • I love it! I hope to see the same amount of justice done to this work as was done to Hogfather (now a traditional holiday movie in my household).

  • Look Jeff from Coupling!!! lol

  • @DoctorS8n Thanks - I was trying to remember where I know the face from :o)

  • Meh, Looks incredibly BORING!

  • Mr.Pump shoulda've been larger, other than that its quite okay ;-D

  • Full movie at filesonic -file -17549973 -going.postal.part1.hdtv.xvid-bia.avi

  • Oh, I never know whether to look a movie made after a book,... I will never forgive how they messed up Inkheart into a cheap joke of itself, and there was one of the actors staring in this trailer. Hm.

  • somebdy put it on Youtube for us un enlightened Yanks!!!

  • Probably my favourite book by terry pratchet

  • I wanted Vetinari to be Alan Rickman.

  • @KakashiXLawliet

That's never occured to me before but you're absolutely right - he would make the perfect Vetinari!

  • @KakashiXLawliet i was thinking this too! with Ewan McGregor as Moist

  • @KakashiXLawliet: Too heavy, Pratchett only said about him "maybe a little bit like the bad guy from Die Hard" and that was 23 years ago. His first choice was Jeffrey Jones who's ginger and might look quite like Dance today if he had taken care of himself. Besides, I could see some overacting on Rickman's part and I would keep thinking, oh look, it's Snape in a Discworld movie. Ugh.

  • Why is Vetinari's beard and hair ginger? It's meant to be black. Other then that looks great. I love the book and I hope they also make Making Money.

  • Oh, dear! How I look forward to watch this movie, after I dwelled so many hours in the pleasure to watch Hog Father and The Color of Magic. But I rerally think, it's such a shame, that they replaced Jeremy Irons by some blonde jerk.

    He did a fabulous job!

  • Oh man, I've still yet to read this one, since I'm relatively new (sort of) to Pratchett's books, so I don't want to spoil the plot before finishing the actual book :( Well, on the bright side, this just means that I have so many more Discworld books to enjoy! :D

  • i think this is the bect convert too tv of terry yet............i loved the hogfather but it missed somthing so did colour of magic...............but this hits all the basis.........really enjoyed it laughed all the way through......

  • This... looks like something right up my alley.

  • I love the fact there their filming Terry's books. Though I am still waiting for a live action adaptation with Granny n' Nanny. Other than Death they are by far the coolest.

  • Sweet.

  • My attempt at a music video of Claire Foy in this movie - goto my channel for the vdieo

  • Love it! Only one question : Where's the golden suit?

  • What I am sorry about is, that "Guards! Guards!" or "Men in Arms" were not filmed yet and hard to say, whethere yes...

  • Claire Foy is just gorgeous in this film !!! Great movie, had me hooked in 20 minutes, then Ms Foy makes an appearance as Adorabella, couldn't take my eyes off her :P

Everyone should watch this film, lol humour, great cast, acting and characters, sexual tension and a very clever story line.

Just switch off and give it a chance :D

  • damn, in this one I really loved the actor for Lord Vetinari...

  • screw harry potter movies, srsly.

  • The thing is in this? jk jk

  • stupid looking ffs waste of time and money

  • @TWIISTIEID I tried my best to sit through this movie and let me tell you, its a hard task. 3hrs long and you dont get a plot until maybe 45 minutes into it. So yeah you're right

  • cool movie, saw it on #FTW Go Movie World . com #CUTE

  • oh man, why do they ALWAYS have to change the actor for vetinari??? thats so awefull :( jeremy irons was the best for this, charles dance looks NOTHING like vetinari!! seriously...a redhead??? thats absolute bullshit! :(

  • Looks really shit.

  • I wish they would make the actual whole Discworld series and actually FOLLOW the books !!!

  • This was genuinely far more wonderful than I could have expected it to be. Don't be put of by previous adaptations (for me particularly the colour of magic).

  • @Wolf2008lllll heartily seconded. he lead an excellent cast all around, but was definitely a genius casting choice. plus, he had real chemistry with claire foy (adora). also, finally a discworld adaptation that manages to transfer the tempo, wit and charm of the books to the screen! finally they got it right - but then, third time´s a charm, eh?

  • We don't have SKY in Groningen, please! I want to see it.

  • come to think of it Richard Coyle would be a brilliant doctor who

  • I REALLY enjoyed it! So nice funny, and charming! Movie based on my fauvorite Discworld book. Very good adaptation, not always very close to book, but movies have their own rights, I know ;) Cast is brilliant! And i loved the way, how they say ,,Sto lat"- something like ,,Stooouuu Lad"- so cute and funny :) It's very suprising to see or hear your language in foregin movie. Greetings to sir Pratchett, filmmakers and you all !

  • looks crapy

  • @TWIISTIEID well it was fucking awesome so you can shove your assumptions up your arse

  • freemason movies its fucken gay!

  • This Looks freaking Amazing!!! I can't wait to watch it.

  • how many parts are there??

  • is this the tv show trailer? or is this a movie?

  • @sammykpeppers made for tv movie

  • I'm not going to watch the second half.. I don't like torture.

  • Could someone please upload it?

  • @nitramgnal there is a torrent on isohunt

  • Loved the first part. I expected some creative liberty to be inserted but didn't consciously look out for it whilst watching. At first I thought Coyle's Moist was a little strange but it grew on me.

I fully expected it to cut out during Mr Gryle's "visit" too, an extra incentive to see the remaining half.

  • @teqrevisited

you should totally upload it to youtube or something so us non brits can see it... ;)

  • @DarkElfMairead

Sorry to disappoint but I'm watching on a normal digital box, got none of that fancy recording stuff :[.

  • @DarkElfMairead DL it from eztv.it

  • @andycats been googling with no luck for ages.. thank you! x

  • @jaspal99 eztv is a great site

  • damn!! it´s completely impossible to watch this movie in Spain!

  • This was BRILLIANT, can't wait till tomorrow night to see the rest :-)

  • tomoorrooow!

  • Can't bloody wait for tomorrow night! It looks really good.

  • Hmmm, doesn't really seem like the right guy to be playing Moist tbh.

But I'll still watch it, might be pleasantly surprised :)

  • This is going to be great!!!

  • Not that I'm complaining, exactly, but what's with the jumping backwards and forwards across the continuity seemingly at random? Are they just picking the stories that the budget allows for, is that it? I would've preferred a more logical order. Ah well.

  • @r3tr0r0ck3r I'd say it's more to do with the fact that they're aiming to show it to newcomers of Discworld as well as old time fans, and that means choosing the stories with less complex themes and simpler plots. Hogfather was aired around christmas time if I remember correctly so it fit in nicely, and Colour of Magic/Light Fantastic was there to give a proper introduction to new fans.

  • @r3tr0r0ck3r Clearly the budget has nothing to do with the order. Colour of Magic/Light Fantastic had terrible effects, considering it is one one the more imaginative/colourful/would-be-super-SFX based novels!!! Meh... what can you expect from SKY1... And David Jason??? What were they thinking?!! lol

  • when is it coming out

  • CANT WAIT OMG WAITING SO MUCH!!!

  • Can't wait *w*

  • OMG!!!!!! DAVID TENANT !!!!!!

  • @albertpesker What? Where?

  • OMFG.

    I am excite.

  • Angua is suppose to have hay blond hair!

  • There's only two non-blonde women in this video. One is a random fat woman who can't be Angua and the other is Adora Belle Dearhart so what are you on about?

  • Man PLEASE tell me vimes at least has a cameo in this one PLEASEEEEEE I can haz city watch?

  • I prefered Jeremy Irons as Vetinari

  • I lol'd..

  • Call me crazy but did I just see a dog with orange eyebrows? ;)

  • @Kumiyanagi

    DON'T TRUST IT!!

  • No David Jason?? :(

  • Whee!!! When's it come out?

  • where the hell is his golden suit?

  • AGH! I don't think I can explain all the little things I already don't like from watching this trailer. I dunno... maybe it is impossible to make an actual suite that looks as if it's about to speed of all by itself... and although a book based movie is impossible to give full satisfaction to all terry's fans(voices, looks, eh..stuff), I think you at least could make a golem look like... a golem. it looks like weighing about 100kg, not a ton, and its mouth looks like a drawer.

  • @oddbigfoot I know what you're saying. One thing that immediately got me was that Vetinari doesn't look like Vetinari. I mean really.... light coloured hair? I'm being too critical I know, but he's one of my favourite characters and I rather liked Jeremy Irons take on it as well as the character from the book series itself.

Ahh well, I'll still watch it. Can't judge a book by it's cover, so perhaps you can't judge a movie by it's trailer.

  • @Nayukhuut Er, its not it's. See? That's how annoyed I am. Stupid spelling errors ftw. :P Anyway as I said. It looks bad in the trailer, but both Colour of Magic and The Hogfather were good despite deviating from the books at times. The Colour of Magic more so then the Hogfather.

  • @Nayukhuut

That was my first thought when I saw him on set. But the way he plays the character. He has Vetinari spot on.

  • Oh...I knew they were going to recast Jeremy Irons with someone else......

  • Can't wait!

  • Coupling's Jeff as Moist - Can't say I'd of picked it, but my favorite character actor playing my favorite character's a pretty exciting thing.

  • Might be fun, no?

  • Seriously? this is it? it looks... old! I hoped it'd be like the other two movies, all magical and colorful :(

  • i want to see it but i dont have sky can some one put it on here then let me know

  • [does little happy dance] I can't say that the Moist series is my favourite amonst the Discworld novels, but regardless, I am dancing about in anticipatory joy!

  • From what I'm reading on everyones comments, one thing needs to be reminded. This is a 2 part tv movie. So don't expect anything flashy. The books are always better than the movies, am I right?

  • Thank god no David Jason at all!

  • Alan Rickman would be my perfect Vetinari. Charles Dance seems like a decent enough substitute, but leaving his hair its natural ginger colour just smacks of laziness on the part of the director. Very poor. Such a little detail would have been very easy to fix and would have added so much to the integrity of the Patrician character.

Also not happy with Richard Coyle. A fine actor, but his image is too weedy, with none of the charisma so vital to a convincing portrayal of Lipwig.
