Actually, our govt. didn't want to go to war, it was only the Attack on Pearl Harbor that made us go to war, it was all about Japan, not only Germany. @crazy12345678942 By the time the japanese surrendered WW2 was alrdy ending. After Hitler died the Axis powers broke up so by then Japan vs america was just a battle not a war anymore. The real threat was Hitler and he died before Japan so we really didnt kill the main threat or make it surrender.
