It looks amazingly frustrating, compared to the conventional alternatives (mouse/keyboard/multi-touch). It needs 10 more years of development. Multi-touch hasn't even gained widespread use on Win7 yet, and that's been out for 21 years. Any excitement here is misplaced enthusiasm.

At first I was really excited about perhaps using the Kinect to replace my mouse, since my arm is under a lot of strain all day and using a mouse is quite painful, but I just know the lag displayed here is going to be a bigger pain then anything. Disapointing really, I was really hoping they cut out the polish stage and directly went to natural SciFi air controls.

Good concept, promising future, unfortunate unacceptable flaws for it to be practical.

@TheRealBlackPuma If you arm is under strain from resting on a table with a mouse, just imagine holding your arm out straight for that long. This is the same flaw experienced with touchscreens.

Garenteed this will be sold as an alternative to touch screens. Which would be a good thing because kinect has a little lag to it- hopefully there could be special systems made for new pcs that have there own kinect type of machine.

Looks cool, but what about the "gorilla hand" effect? Our hads gets tired very fast at this position. Thats why even after the iPad we don't have Macs with touchscreen.

This is useful for a HTPC, also turning on and off your PC from across the room. Shuffling through movies, music playlists and photo albums. I'm sure there's been a time were you had to walk over to the PC just to turn it off or click something and wish you could have done it without getting up.
