  • The songs are fantastic. What is the name of the song Lea Salonga sings. I may not be from the Philippines but it's a beautiful song and I would love to know more about it --- the name and the lyrics. Thank you for your help.

  • The first song's title is "I Am But a Small Voice." You can find the lyrics posted here.

The second song's title is "Tagumpay" (it means "victory"). You can try browsing for the lyrics through google.

did she make up the song by herself? by thw way, thanks for replying before! she's really talented man!

  • No, Lea did not write the song. But it was written by a 13-year old Filipina girl back in 1980 when the United Nations through UNESCO launched a poem writing contest promoting peace where the poem chosen will be translated into a song by the famous Roger Whittaker. It was only Lea Salonga who was chosen to interpret the song.

  • Thanks for the trivia.

  • You're welcome...

  • I remember being in CCP one of the chorale groups nationwide invited to sing for Pope John Paul II back in the early 80's. We sang this songs. Yes this little girl with an angelic little voice was the only one in the spotlight singing this song majestically and the rest of us just humming ang singing the chorus part. Who would have known back then that this girl will be famous someday, sing internationally and bring great pride to her country. I'm just so glad that I was there at that moment.

  • Wow! you're such a lucky lucky person. I wish I was there too.

  • I'm supposed to sing this song for my chorus concert. Is Lea Salonga a child? Cuz ehr voice sounds like that a little...

  • The song here was sung by Lea Salonga when she was just 10 years old (I think). But she's now in her 30's and is a broadway performer. She's the original star of London's Miss Saigon. You can search her here in Youtube if you'd like to know or hear more about her.

  • I work for the government...and I would honestly say I've been straight. I watch all my sister's kids and those of my friends, and feel so ashamed of how things are turning out for them....the kind of world we made for them. With the kind of officials we have, what is in store for these tykes?

  • So sad, but true... :-(
