I took a Black Katana Mk. II to my first Garuga battle. Since Yian Garuga is like a Kut-Ku, it was very easy to kill it. The main mistake of yours, however, was leaving your Scythe blunt - you should have sharpened it, instead of landing bounces. And hide your weapon sometimes...your timing and evasive actions will improve...

But aside from that - job well done, the quest was completed with bonuses (tail cut-off and a slashed beak)

Im a Hunter Rank 7 and i no lifed it. I have full Akantor and Every weapon. I use Rathalos armor and a Tigrex Katana Most of the Time. Your Dodge needs to be more timed. Aim For His Wings becuase you have a Slicing Weapon and thats it's Weak Spot.

if the it says clear in red it means you beat all the quests listed but there is still a quest you have not finished somewhere

y dose using a katana make u a noob there a good choice of weapon fairly strong and u get fairly good movment speed with it to am hr9 and i use long swords all the time

he sure is a noob dog. You never run with a sword unsheathed. You run to the creature with the sword sheathed and then you strike once you're at striking distance. Also, what happened to your flash bombs, high wind armor, pitfall traps etc? Dude, MH is about using the right tactics with the right armor.That is the learning curve that must be achieved to beat this awesome game. Once you know what to do, most of MH's weapons and armor are bullshit!

one of the biggest garugas ive ever seen. and i got a really big silver crown one once.

also, i like using hammers against this guy. hammers are so much easier then longswords. although i do use a Onslaught (on MH2F, PSP)
