We wrote our own internal change control system back in early 1990s, which we are still using for development. Hmm... never heard of Git before, but will check it out.
@matthewjmccullough Really sorry that I was in doubt about your jokes...But I feel happy after you confirmed the whole show was a parody... :) It's a great talk in that case =p
"And it has such a great interface! So consistent! Just try searching for 'git revert changes'! There's five different ways to do it, and you need to read a whole manual on each one to figure out if it's the one you want! And there's a great community that will post explanations even longer than the manual on when you should use which command. Great. "
@phreakhead It really is a great component to the DVCS revolution in version control systems. I'm pleased to see Mercurial, Git, and Bazaar all grow in adoption. I like tools that give me options. It allows me to be the governor in what I learn. Stop by the GitHub free office hours any time and I'll assist with anything Git related.
@basmithtx Sorry for my bad English. I can understand his jokes during the presentation, but I think he should have made it clear that the whole thing is a joke at the end...
If this is a joke, it's a terrible joke!... I was waiting the whole clip for a reverse ending and got disappointed. Couldn't believe the author really meant such things when he presented it
@xitrumch It was a parody to lighten the evening. I teach Git workshops and work for GitHub. It got a lot of laughs from the audience and increased the Git workshop attendance because folks knew they would have fun.
Saw this live at OSCON. Great talk!
