Nope, fantastic Contraption is made by inxile entertainment who bought the rights of the game off a guy named colin northway..

And definitely worth it seeing the amazing stuff you can do with a jailbroken iPhone.
Granted alot of this is being fixed in v3.0 of the firmware, but I can still have my hacked apps. whoot.

They both have their advantages, I, personally, prefer Fantastic Contraption, as it has online, a level editor and more levels, but Magnificent Gizmos definitely has brought some new ideas to the table, such as rope and bouncing Goalons.
