hey I had my room painted but it came out horriable. there was an oil base paint on it and the painter painted over it with waterbase paint. so as time went by the paint started to peel. and its all uneven because there were different layers of paint on the wall. What do I do? :(
Does it really matter if you paint the baseboards after you paint your walls? I figure it's easier to do the baseboards first because if you get white paint on the wall it's easy to cover it up when you do the walls. I know the opposite can happen too though.
@randall ps. i know u did mention flat paint does work as primer, but my question is will my flat paint alone be enough with out have to throw ANOTHER coat of paint?? if the makes any sense??????? lol
Hey thanks 4 da video! im gonna be painting my appartment, i am using FLAT paint. i already patched up all the holes, now my question is will my flat paint be enough to cover up the patches real good, without me having to PRIMER them first???? and another question imma paint the bedroom which is currently dark PURPLE, BABY BLUE, and its FLAT paint as well, now will that baby blue flat paint be enough to cover up the purple??? or will i have to primer it with white paint first??????????
I'm painting a house from H E double toothpicks....its about 50 degrees F in there in the morning. It's been vacant since 1972 and the wood trim is taking 3 coats and not very nice looking ones at that! I'm using Kilz 2 latex primer and they want ultrawhite semigloss on the trim. Only thing original in house is this time killing trim. I'm thinking of using Original Kilz and a respirator for first coat since it just drinks primer. Any suggestions Green Apple? Help Please!! haha
@suarezphilip It sounds like you will have to use an oil based primer for the wood trim. kilz is a great product make sure you open all of your windows and use fans to help get fresh air into the room. The fumes are pretty bad. Good Luck!
trouble with this video is. who ever is in charge of cleaning the tools did a bad job rust on a drywall knife leaves mess on wall. 2nd broom is much better to dust with. over doors, windows corners of the room. Sorry I dont think id hire this guy.
Does this guy realize how his video is contributing to our failing economy. People look at this video and will decide that instead of hiring a painter they're going to paint themselves to save the money. Meanwhile struggling paint companies are out of jobs because of stupid guys like this. Good thing he's white I hope mexicans don't start giving this guy tips. Then I'll be out of business thanks to assholes like him.
Don't use the back of the knife to push in the excess from the hole. Cut it out with a utility knife since you will be patching it anyways. This make it cleaner and less like to still have some debris causing problems.
Thanks for these 2 videos (part 2 also). I am painting a room for my first kid and once we had all the stuff to paint... well let's just say these videos helped a lot.
