We had both popped open a bottle of Jack when we heard gunshots a level below us. It was the Chief's office. We went to investigate, seeing as we were some of the last few people in the building, other than Woods and his team but they couldn't hear it. Rushing to the Chief's floor we found him in a pool of blood. A gunshot wound to the head.. And that's where our story began..

Nyan cat wandered down the empty street, taking in the broken windows of abandoned stores and dusty neon of the few seedy bars, scattered like dead leaves here and there. He soaked all in, every failure, every heartbreak, every abandoned thing left to rot here. Including himself: just another hopeless shell amongst these so many others.
Surfing inside Tumblr, I suddenly stumble upon an unknown website address. My mood was cheerful and a little adventurous, the thrill of my curious index finger was not one to be stopped. The link took me to YouTube. A depressive video of a not very old meme with slow music and black-and-white colours. Wondering my choice of site, I scrolled down to the comments only to find heart-breaking background stories of the video. Instead of sadness, though, only inquiring thoughts crossed my mind, "wtf".
Rain poured down on the downtrodden feline. Already having a bad day, after his employer banned him from accessing or viewing his youtube account, the poor kitty received a break up message, "We're over, Sad Cat". He hit the liquor store for a carton of American Spirits and some Jack Daniels. Unfortunately this cat has seen better days. The alley's puddles dripped with what was left of a cloudy day, and he stumbled around inwhat seemed like him to be an eternity through wet, cold hell.
When the next big shot: nyan dog took place I was over . No special kitty litter to make me fly just plain kitty litter like any other cat. I was broken ,dead, not a hit anymore. Just a cat walking around in a broken kitty litter box with a hole in it. I met a couple of strays in the alley. They tried to eat me and mistaked me for a toaster strudel. I moved into a dumpster and lived there the rest of my life praying nyan cat would get popular again-That I would come back to life.
I was just about to make it big in the Hollywood scene until the toaster strudle took the spot light and left me in the dark, grey corner of the world. I walk the streets endlessly day & night looking for a purpose, a reason to even keep walking. Cars drive by as I drag myself to the nearest alley & wouldn't even notice who I once was. I spend my late nights at a bar drinking myself to sleep before I'm kicked out into the streets. No one cares about the cat with a poptart on it's back. No one...
And that's when I saw her walking toward me, concern in her eyes. "Nekopan, is that really you?" She reached out a tentative hand, as though to comfort me, but she couldn't even make it two steps before tears welled up in her eyes and she bounced her yeasty self the hell away from me. Boy, my life really was on the skids.
Just then, I heard a payphone ringing on the street corner. I shoulda known better than to answer it, but when have I ever let that from stop me from doing something stupid?
I just continued moping down the street. Head held low. My poptart turned to an unattractive mixture of black and gray. My life was perfect. But it just spiraled downward. I don't know how. I guess one could say I just... Lost my colors. That did in fact happen. I continue walking. "What happened?" I ask myself. "They loved me" But now... Now I am this. Bland poptart is all I will ever be.
Day 284, I dont know what month it is... has my birthday come up yet?.. im so lonely... everyone... everyone i know.. gone.. dead. Ive been in the same shit hole for over 200 days. I keep telling my self rescue will come but i know it wont. Im running out of food and have half a bottle of water. I need to find a way to survive. why me? why could i have been in that explosion. Im slowly forgetting my family one by one. soon they will be strangers.. maybe thats a good thing, no suffering, no pain

On the back it said "wish you were here".
