  • this is my fav family matters episode by far

  • steve kicks ass as bruce lee

  • isn't that Jackie Chan 3:29

  • @quickstrikeman nah that's James Lew

  • @G33KN3rd but it looks like Chan

  • @quickstrikeman It really does. I'm watching it now and was thinking "Is that Jackie Chan?!

  • Ha Ha~!!UNBELIEVABLE~!!!

  • In this episode (Substitute son): Yes, Jaleel did all the fighting, (except for any flipping). He even did the jumping side kick. No, that's not Jackie Chan, it's James Lew. No, Jaleel is not a martial artist... in fact, he's never seen a Bruce Lee movie until then. He learned a few moves before the shoot. How do I know? because I was one of the stunt fighters who fought him... I'm also a friend of Jaleel.

  • @delawarewolf

Interesting. How was it to look back at this scene, does anything spark a memorable moment?

  • Good times... it was fun. This was the second time i worked with the director, Rich Correll. I also worked with him when he directed an episode of "Step By Step" where Cody went to a bar to get his sister out of trouble. Rich is a fun director to work with.

  • thats awesome to hear man. rarely do you get to interview someone from off the set of a television show, didn't mean to grill and also thanks for the reply.

  • your seriously a friend of jaleels?!

  • Yeah, I'm a friend but I haven't seen or spoken with him since I last bumped into him at Jamie Foxx's Oscar party.

  • @delawarewolf which one are you?

  • this is fucken awsome

  • Jaleel White has a great cut body. So this Bruce Lee thing did really good with his look.

  • u u a one who call my friwnd a bimbo thats a disquisting name we kome 4 apowgie ahh what an apilogieu know like when you say sorry best part BIG MISTAKE GOLDI LOCKS

  • Funny how this show used the same guy at 3:35 on every Bruce Lee/Urkel episode they did from that point on.

  • what does urkel say at 2:37?

  • Hey all don't be fooled, this is not really Steve Urkel fighting like that. He doesn't even know martial arts so how is it possible for him to fight like that? Dont get fooled guy.

  • dude remeber the machine he has that turns him to stefan urk-cal....yea it can also turn him to bruce lee and later elvis.

  • how is it possible for a machine to turn ppl with no martial art capabilities into Bruce Lee-esque ass kickers? That doesn't fit in with reality. This is fake and fooling so many ppl.

  • Comment removed

  • it's t.v dude it doesn't have to be real

  • but they're real ppl, therefore it should be real. This is not real and that's a big shame.

  • you know i heard this was also based under sci-fi. by some fans i think, based apon some episodes like this. the episodes would be based on sci-fi i guess, but still on to my point. sci-fi has real people and they have aliens, robots, and machines. also why should it be based on real events it's T.V it doesn't matter

  • Ummm, that was the same actor playing Urkel and Urkel/Lee. I've seen that episode about 30 times.

  • I know. What Im saying is how is it possible for this actor who has no martial arts knowledge be able to fight like that, especially at the level of Bruce Lee. I call BullShit.

  • @jake619 a keografi that can be learned stupid

  • Ummm, obviously a stunt double is used for the flipping and somersaulting parts, but he's not really "fighting" like Bruce Lee, it's all choreographed. I've seen most of Bruce Lee's movies and Urkel/Lee is clearly a pale imitation. But let's also take note that Jaleel White is in pretty good shape. He could easily do most of the ground work himself. Look at his arms.

  • aha, see everyone it's not really jaleel white fighting, he haqs stunt doubles. so dont be fooled. its not him really fighting.

  • You are such an idiot. Did you not read what I said? He's not doing the flipping and the somersaulting parts, but as for the rest, the kicking, the throws, the jump kicks, the chops (what I called the "ground work"), Jaleel's doing all of that.

  • and im saying that hes not doing that b/c it would be impossible given he doesnt have a martial arts background

  • How do you know how much martial arts Jaleel knows? You are being deliberately obtuse. OBVIOUSLY it's not real martial arts he's doing. He's just faking it. Anyone can imitate the "look" of martial arts. It's not impossible. Hell I'm not in the greatest shape, and even I can do a jump-kick.

  • hey do you not like me or something?

  • I bet he was taught some techniques for some days or weeks or even before a rehearsel. He did some neat moves tough. But that dint came out from his knowledge tough. Its a show. So dont be hatin because his cooler then you.

  • @Jake 619 - I the first episode (prodigal son) Jaleel did everything as far as "fighting" except the flips... I should know, I was one of the stuntmen.

Jaleel is very talented and, although he's never seen a Bruce lee movie before this show, he was given a few films to watch by he director to give him an idea of Bruce's mannerisms. Jaleel picks up easily on things. No, he's not a martial artist but he learned a few tricks before shooting.

  • @delawarewolf which one were you?

  • its really funny that this is a Sitcom TV Show, not an Action TV Show!

  • is that jackie chan that fights urkle with the stick?

  • looks like him but i don't think so

  • No, that's James Lew...

  • your post for capturing this scene on your TV is VERY appreciated.....

  • Now only we could get stefan urkel to do that kind of stuff... I can picture the fan girls now... XD

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

    LOVE IT AH

    thats badass

  • that was crazy

  • this from fist of fury (aka chinese connection)

  • jaleel white must have been a bruce lee fan because he has all of his mannarisms

  • yeah u can tell cause he nails the facial expressions.hand expressions and even the style of fighting :)

  • Actually, Jaleel has never seen a Bruce Lee movie before this show... I know because he told me... I was one of the stunt fighters on the episode.

  • OOOOOOHHHH MAN! HOOOO MAN!! They went all out on the Bruce Lee fight. I found myself clapping like an idiot because the fight choreography was so damn good! It was not only mindblowing for a tv sitcom but it's as good as any good kungfu movie. Man, Family Matters' Bruce Lee scenes never fail to impress. I'll never get sick of them.

  • Urkel ''The Bruce" Lee pwns lmao

  • urkel dont fuck around

  • ha it was a good fight some parts made me laugh his expressions.

  • by far my favourite family matters episode

  • Nice move at 2:50 Urkel Bruce.

  • thanks.

  • WHAT DID HE SAY AT 2:38?

  • 3:28 to 3:42 is hilarious!!!!! i like the part where he pelvic thrusts!!1

  • Yeah those pelvis thrusts were funny as hell! Man, now I HAVE to start rewatching Family Matters.

  • yo he dont fuck around

  • Reminds me of that bar fight I was in at the Bronx about 4 months ago.

  • was the asain guy jackie chan?

  • No, he was. He transformed himself into "Bruce Lee" to fight the guys who gave Laura trouble.

  • naw...

  • no, one of the guys that urkel was fighting. the guy at 3:23

  • The guy at 3:23 is James Lew.

  • Damn, that was James Lew. Everyone is kicking his ass. lol Jean Claude Van Damme fucked him up in Time Cop.

  • You ain't kidding...Bruce Urkel's main enemy, "Goldilocks" is also another top stock movie fighter (David Lea is his name)...he was also Sly Stallone's martial arts opponent in "Tango and Cash"

  • Still gotta see that movie.

  • Oh yeah, have I mentioned David Lea was also Michael Keaton's stunt double in the original Batman?

  • Okay, now that's FUCKING badass! +1

  • The whole thing was good but 4:38 got me!

  • bruce was able to do that with his fist not his palms lols...

  • whats the name of this episode?........please reply

  • the substitute son

  • "CRASH"MOMMA CUSER

  • he's bruce lee in another episode too :D
