@fourfortyroadrunner sorry the video is cutoff by a few seconds, when i was leaning forward my foot was just coming off the starter.i would edit the title but after 250,000+ view most people are content, thanks and God Bless the USA
@mccrackenphillip well it is basically at a idle pulling into the shed, what your hearing is the tractor is skipping a bit, I have a DLTX 53 carburetor (A Model JD) with G Jets drilled into the body, rather than the DLTX 51 carburetor that should be on it. It works and has plenty of power, just doesnt run worth a flip and i don't want to rebuilt it, im going to replace it.
My uncle has a 1947 JD G he bought new in July of 1947. He is 91 now but his sons (my cousins) still use it several times a summer to pull a JD power takeoff bailer with a wagon on the back. There are some hills on the farm and that G is really talking going up hill with the bailer running off the tractor powertake off and the wagon about full of bails of hay. You can here it for miles. They rake and condition hay with a JD A my uncle bought new in 1944 and mow with a JD 420 bought new in 1954.
well they come and go... I got a AC wd and wd-45...but ive owned Farmalls and one oliver dozer. but ive owned about 60 two cylinders...sadly I only have one left after paying off college.
Me and my grandpa made a John Deere A with 115hp its got a 9 inch crank shaft and bored with JD G pistons..somthing that me and him enjoy were going to make a G now =)
It's a johnny popper its a big two cylinder that's just how they run.

Is that a hit and miss engine?
Trikster1of4 9 months ago
@Trikster1of4 no, but the engine only has a power stroke ever other turn, but mostly it is just skipping badly.
