If rumours are to be believed then it was a woman that was the cause of the falling out (again) between Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash. I thought it was all going a bit too well, with Murphy presenting Ash with one of Jimi Hendrix's effects units. Personally feel the album more than lived up to expectations despite being a little demo like in places but then it was recorded in 10 days with minimal overdubs. Was it reasonable to expect as classic a Bauhaus track as "The dog's a vapour"?
i used to be a roadie fro bauhaus during the mask years i meet them at the rock garden in covent garden.great time good memories.i filmed them at the hammersmith palais their last gig but i havent got the video graham who did the lighting has it.....oh well never mind that was my video career down the plug hole... peter murphy lives in turkey now....we had a right laugh when they toured with the birthday party

Unfortunately, Bauhaus is one of those bands that set a standard that affected a lot of other greats (helping them become what they are) but they never achieved the success they deserve.

New Bauhaus reminds me of She wants revenge... I'm liking it but I've yet to listen to all the new songs, been with Lords of the New Church recently :)

Are you kidding? Cascade is stellar!!! Toss up between Deep and Cascade. Love Hys. and Should the world fail to fall apart are also better than Holy Smoke quite easily.

I don`t think it is fair to pont the finger at anyone. If I`m not mistaken, Peter was one of the last to join. Undoubtably Dan is the most talented musician and alfa status has been established before Peter came along. professionally, they should jive. They work well together. The result is friggin amazing! I have to believe they are better friends than speculation suggest. Creativity may be the bigger issue. It seems the rest of the band don`t have a problem with Dan.
