My mom is going to make this tomorrow so we can have it at our 4th of July picnic at my aunts house we will let you know how it turns out..."ya betcha bootey, ya betcha bootey"~the Humper
It looked quite.. different.. but I'm sure it tastes good considering the ingredients lol I think I'll try it with my little bro on a rainy day, thanks
I can't imagine what this tastes like since we don't have jello in my country. Is jello just jelly? I am tempted to try this but I don't know if I'd like it! Only one way to find out I guess! Could you use a berry flavoured Jello? Or is jello only orange flavored? Thanks for sharing
@TheMissJess13 Actually, I believe there may be a cultural misunderstanding here. In countries outside of the US/Canada, "jelly" is the same as Jello, but in the US "jelly" is something like a jam made of fruit juice (which is why she said it was not the same thing). Jello is a flavored gelatin dessert.. So, this would work with any powdered instant jelly mixes that you have.
thanks for sharing this one. am going to try...will have to wait a bit tho....i have managed to find the flu....and i wasn't even looking for it. i have some of my mom's recipes too. love her handwriting and her comments about the dish...
I am fascinated with the pan..lol..never saw one with a lid before like that. My mom always use to make a cabbage jellied salad, I unfortunately am not a fan..lol..
The humper is lookin fantastic!!! He's a pure gent so he is. I loved how it fizzed right up. I call that colour "Summer orange". The finished dessert looks absolutely delicious Stacey. You are fantastic in the kitchen so you are. Mom knew what she was doing when she made this recipe up i can tell ya! Excellent taste.
I love the metal pans with the metal lid! I have never seen those before, you can reheat things in the oven with the lid on!
You basically made a custard for the topping, bet it tastes yummy. this looks like a nice light dessert. I may try this next time I have family over, I will use the sugar free jello. Thanks Stacey, I was hoping you'd post this. :)
hmmm, looks like a lot of work for some jello but I'm sure it's worth it! My mom used to just add fruit cocktail to her jello when we were kids and we loved it.. I always tried to have a cherry in mine serving! LOL
Wow I only need a bottle of 7-up and I will have all the ingredients that I need to make this! It looks really good I love the thought of oranges in it. I love your cooking videos they really help me out ! Thank you =)

That looks both yummy and sinful. Never heard of using 7up in Jello, but why not?
So Humper was going to top it with pepperoni? We must be soulmates. I'll put pepperoni on anything. LOL

As much as I like the idea of this, I just cant take surprises in my jello. I think it was a bad experience from childhood.
