    the wider the elbows, the more difficult the movement

    conversely, the closer together and more forward the elbows are, the easier the execution

  • Usually I just do crunches and then i start moving my legs like I'm riding a bike. That works too and your whole body is moving. My back feels straight and I feel my abs hurting. But it's also important to eat healthy too. So that when you exercise you dont feel burned out, instead you feel refreshed and more energetic. :)

  • @ginny177 my trainer taught me to do this because at first my back always hurt after only a few. keep at it every few days and shortly it won't hurt anymore.

  • You're the one that was stupid, I was referring to the 2 dozen instructional videos online showing double crunches.

    Not a SINGLE ONE OF THEM mentions holding your knees and calves together. It's effective if you don't but far more effective for your core if you do.

  • acg, what you'll want to do is make sure you go to sleep at a decent time, and also wake up at a decent time. When you wake up, drink 2 glasses of water, and have a breakfast of 250-500 calories. Going to bed at a good time, drinking water when you wake up, and having a healthy breakfast vastly improve your metabolism. Then, of course, exercise during the day. Swimming is probably one of the best things, but change it up, and try to have fun, exercise doesn't need to be a chore.

  • Doing crunches does not help you lose fat. (Im not trying to be mean, even if you only have love handles crunches will not do the work) You need to do cardio and eat a healthy diet to lose extra weight. If you run even just three days a week you will see the fat go away! If you can't run a mile, work up to that goal of doing so. It takes less than 10 minutes, hope you go for it!

  • im 13 mate and im tryin to get a little skinnier and musclier :) im not fat but im not skinny (im not chubby!!)

    i recommend u change ur diet, do more physical sports like football or swimming and at night or in the morning (when u get up or ur goin to sleep) do press ups, sit ups or anythin like that

  • @acg246 It's gonna take more than a few ab exercises to get toned. Treadmill a few hours a week is your best bet, and eat good, no more doritos! You already have a sixpack, just need to get rid of the fat that's hiding it :P

  • @acg246 Do cardio lil brother. only way to loose fat fast. belly and love handles is first place fat goes and the last place it leaves. working your abs/core with crunches wont give you a visible six pack. besides most killer abs are painted on with photoshop. I hope this lil reality break helps you.

  • @acg246 not at all, sure you'll develope 6pack muscles but they'll be hidden under your fat, want to lose weight? go running 3 times a week
