  • Too bad John didn't play the keyboard despite it being on stage.

  • Who said that Paul McCartney only write Ballads?

  • Best rock band ever!

  • So flippin' raw and energetic. I first heard this 17 years ago at the age of 5, and it still has the power to move me. Beatles forever!

  • VERY bad quality ! But it's normal , after all it's a live from 1966....

  • Yes ladies and and gentelmen, there once was a time without auto tuning. It was called real music.

  • hahah aaw so cute doing the intro all serious takes a deep breath and start this greaat song !

  • Really great version of this! I was always struck by the slightly odd nature of the melody - emphasizing the second note of the scale is unusual, especially for a driving rock and roll song! - DC

  • Haha Paul, We love you...

  • Paul's rock'n'roll voice <3

  • George was high during this whole thing...

  • Why Does George Look at Ringo at 1:09?

  • @Coolio170 According to the Beatles, they had to look at each other because they couldn't hear the musical cues over the screaming.

  • John!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • best B-Side ever

  • 「とても楽しい演奏会でした」wwww

  • I -3 the Beatles

  • Paul has 1 of the greatest rock n roll voices in history. he's so underrated as a rock singer- people tend to think of his beautiful ballad singing.

  • why didn't John use the organ?

  • @RollOverBeethoven63 Good question

  • Ringo really needed a Doctor:( he looks so sick :(

  • Comment removed

  • all 4 Beatles were tired. touring was grueling, the food was bad, and nobody could hear the music anyway so it got kinda depressing fighting a loosing battle against the screams. I bet Ringo was bored and depressed in a way too as he never got to play anything interesting or sing much.

  • If you guys are wondering why the Japanese crowd aint saying "noooooooo" when Paul remarks its their last song for the evening is because in those days English weren't widely spoken. :)

Had it been today it would have been a riot I think :D

  • haha, this is something a friend I know would say at the end of his set with his band Electric Saturday "This is the last song type deal". Check out Electric Saturday.

  • I will bet you the Boys loved the Japanese audience a whole lot more than the western ones. The screaming was not nearly as bad. The Boys didn't have to try and out scream them, which probably made it a lot eaiser to play.

  • I love this video! *.*. Paul's eyes bursting with joy, especially here: 0:37 ; 1:27 =)

    ROCK & ROLL FOREVER

  • HONG KONG????????????

  • I wonder if John didn't play the organ because they just wanted to get the H-E-L-L out of there... ?? great version of the song..

  • No he visto a Paul con mala cara en ningun concierto, siempre está alegre y disfrutando lo que hace... hey Paul, you were never down!!

  • I'm impressed, first video I see where they loosen up and really rock... specially Paul

  • I agree with you!

I've heard that George got upset because the first stage was absolutely crap, so he forced others to "rehearse" properly & do "ROCK"!

  • sayonara?

    sayonara means goodbye in japanese.

  • So..everything is Ok cause he said that this is the last song, so he wanted to say goodbye.,.

  • Can somebody tell me what he said from 22-25 sec? I can't understand him...

    Beatles 4ever!

  • "So...as they say in Hong Kong...'Sayanora'."

  • thank you so much :)

  • Think he says 'Runcorn' not Hong Kong, its a town near Liverpool

  • its an old vid lol

  • you are really up!!up!!!up!!!!!up.......

  • I sure missed the organ played by John

  • I liked this version. I like when the familiar is changed up.

  • best solo guitar of george i think is here comes the sun.. that's a great guitar solo.. and paull ohhh for god sakes he's greatt.. jhon too

  • i can really see why the beatles sound so great...chuck berry influence

  • Could someone please tell me how to do guitar chords like that?

  • Sure. Take a lessson.

  • W ANNI 60'

  • Yeah I agree, but listen to George's guitar playing on "She Said, She Said", there were no real solo's but just excellent guitar playing by George and smaller part John. This may sound ridicuous, but to me one of George's greatest guitar solo's was on "Got To Get You Into My Life". He did so much in the few notes he played in that short solo.

  • exactly! that is so simple, but adds another dimension to that tune!

  • She Said, She Said is John on guitars, George on bass, Ringo on drums using tympani mallets on his kit. Paul walked out of that session.

  • She Said, She Said has both John and George on guitars. Paul did have and argument with the others, so George played bass. This was probably the first song(if very few) George ever played bass on. The opening chords is George(dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah) then John plays the swirling guitar chords with Ringo's drumming before he sings his vocals. George's guitar parts were at the end of the verses while John's was the swirling notes during the song.

  • On the second line of my last comment I meant to put that George also played bass. He played both lead guitar and bass, John played rhythm guitar and Ringo drums using tympani mallets.

  • Yeah I agree that George guitar solo's on this song was different that the year before. The Beatles were using fewer chords when they recorded Revolver from George discovering "raga rock" because there are fewer chords in Indian music. This live performance was after the Beatles recorded Revolver in 1966.

  • I know the Beatles were tired of touring at this point and their performances weren't that great, but I like this one nonetheless. Listen to George's guitar solo on this song. This is really rare because 1966 was the year that "rock" was born out of rock & roll. He's playing straight rock chords instead of rock and roll. Now if this was 1965, the guitar solo would have been quite different.

  • Sad to say George wasn't much on solos if he hadn't rehearsed them. Bootlegs of Can't Buy Me Love really show this. Yes, he became a hell of a slide player but name one solo for the Beatles where he excelled. Ticket to Ride was Paul, Taxman was Paul, I Want You was John, Get Back was John, not much left but rehearsed covers

  • Hehe, I wanted to say ''While My Guitar Gently Weeps'', but of course that's Eric Clapton.

Did John play the beginning solo's on And Your Bird Can Sing?

  • Dual guitar solos recorded live in the studio (no overdubs) by Harrison and McCartney.

  • It's still something ;)

Ha! ''Something'' That's a great solo.

  • While My Guitar Gently Weeps is a beatles song not a Eric Clapton song.

  • I Saw Her Standing There, live in the U.S, thats a cool solo. probobly practiced a lot but still pretty cool.........

  • BEATLES: The Top Selling Record Album in all time. Best band ever. Their music is worth remembering. Timeless & Classic. John was a genius composer with cool voice like paul with real rocker voice. and theyre cutie. Goerge was a real cutie best lead guitarist & writes songs that is touching. luvs goerge so mch. Ringo best drummer. They Rules. Nothing compares them ever. nothing can ever come close to even. band nowadays just sucks. Rock on beatles. you live forever. NOTHING COMPARES.

  • didn't they hate touring by this point...no one seems really into it except maybe paul lol

  • great perfomance

  • This video is off sync...It's crap...hhjk, I love it!!! It's one of my favorite songs!

  • This 2nd Show of the 5 in Japan is certainly MUCH better than the 1st(Dark Suit). None the less, they still were not putting much effort into the shows. It just wasn't what they wanted or cared to be doing. It should also be noted that audiences outside of the USA always tended to listen more and scream less. Watch the 64/65 NME shows, Paris 65, Germany 66, or Blackpool 65(Compare that one alone to the Ed Sullivan appearence just months later).

  • That's the only time I've seen them play this with no organ

  • I was thinking the same thing. It's not the same without Lennon doing the elbow slides during the solo.

  • And Ringo's shrug says it all. It would be a matter of days, from this concert, that John would get into major trouble for his "The Beatles are more popular than Jesus" quote. It would be only a matter of months, from this concert, that the Beatles gave up touring for doing just studio work (because of creativity issues).

  • Lennon lost a good bit of weight in the weeks after this, largely due to the stress of the "bigger than Jesus" uproar. In this clip he's still in his 1965-66 "fat Elvis" period, but if you look at, say, the press conference in Chicago about six weeks after this, where he "apologized," he was much thinner.

  • I was reminded though that Lennon's statement took place several months before this concert (March '66 instead of this concert in June '66). But I still think Ringo's shrug says it all.

  • They look like they're having a ball, except for Ringo. He looks very unhappy. Wonder what the story was.

  • This is the point in their career, summer 1966, when Ringo was saying that going in concert was actually hurting the Beatles with the fact none of the audience was listening to them, and they were having trouble listening to themselves to expand creativity wise (later the rest of the Beatles would agree w/ Ringo). But also this concert was unusual because, despite some screaming, the audience in Japan was rather quiet.

  • the song isn't as good recorded as it is live

  • I agree, George's guitar solo sounds better and so does Paul's voice. The shea stadium is a good one too.

  • this song is AWESOME!!!
