@Scoinsoffaterocks I have no idea, perhaps they are more efficient in some way than Amtrak's regular electric locomotives. I don't mind them. The first time I had one pulling the train I was on was when I was going from Baltimore to New York. I suppose you dislike the actual Acela Express locomotives as well? They're the same design, except those engines are not double-headed.
