  • lol asian dude at the end

  • epic fail

  • I don't always balk, but when I do, I realize that the Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla more money than me.

  • I think he tried to do the AMAZING JAPANESE PITCH® and failed.

  • BaBa Booey can throw better than that

  • this when i rethink being a mets fan

  • I use that trick with my dog and a tennis ball.

  • thats embarrassing

  • one does not simply balk into mordor

  • It really pains me to be a Mets fan.

  • F.A.I.L! GO SOX!

  • Asains...

  • Invisible pitch!!!!

  • @mrewprew11 because its very funny :D

  • This video sums up all of the Met's seasons in one word: Fail!

  • mumble...mumble...and he just drops the ball and adokjfdjpwqowfmiflkaadfs

  • He's a perfect fit for the mets. He fits in just fine.

  • I would have been embarrassed outta my mind

  • Pelfrey's was worse because he fell off the mound...also Pelfrey's other one was also worse because he dropped the ball behind him above his head...notice a trend? Let's go mets!

  • wats balk

  • Pitch: Made in China

  • @108268 swang?? 0_o

  • @FalloutboyGreenDay22 Double Derp

  • Wat dat waz a strike no fair

  • STRIKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKE!

  • he dropped that ball similarly to the way the mets dropped all of their money

  • @gkeeper555 its not the mets fault, they're actually not that bad, theres at least 10 teams that are worse then them. The only reason they're poor is because if you lived in new york and you were going to choose a team to like your obviously going to pick the winning one which is the yankees. If they were in a different city they would have more fans and more money and cause them to be a better baseball team

  • @Jv3Fallout Rays have the worst payroll in the MLB but they still made it to the postseason three times in a row

  • @pidiwidon 2 years in a row* they didnt make it in 2009

  • he got scared of papi

  • GO RED SOX!!

  • Ortiz is literally just like "What the hell just happened?"

If you can't get a grip on the ball, maybe you shouldn't throw that pitch.

  • ORTIZ WTF MOMMENT HAHAHAHA!!

  • that wasn't a balck

  • @BobwellTV yeah it is you fucking idiot " Rule 8.01(d) : A ball which slips out of a pitcher’s hand and crosses the foul line shall be called a ball; otherwise it will be called no pitch. This would be a balk with men on base. "

  • ortiz is like wtf

  • It's not a balk. . As soon as he releases the ball with his foot on the rubber its considered a pitch. thats just a ball. Iv seen it happen lots

  • @Swaggster1231 For it to be a pitch it must then cross the foul line. If it doesn't:

    With no runners on, no pitch;

    With runner(s) on, Balk.

  • Only Ken Takahashi, who did this twice during the 2009 season (this was the second)

  • shows just how terrible the mets are

  • Hahah David Ortiz Is Like WTF?!

  • only the mets

  • nbaloverohio what r u smoking?! HE DROPPED THE BALL ON HIS WINDUP!

  • @chrizles 69 likes and the mets!!

  • @chrizles your comment has more likes then the video... people are stupid lol.

  • @chrizles fuck you.

  • I love the Mets but it also has to be the Mets, ironic yes but my hope for my team is about 50-1 chance they will go anywhere within the next 5 years.

  • What a nasty changeup!!

  • Its Takahashi he couldnt hit the broad side of a barn if he tried so why does it matter haha?

  • It's a balk. 2B Umpire is working inside... there is at least one runner on base.

  • It's a balk if there was anybody on base.

  • Hahahhahahahaha Lawl

  • it's actually a ball, not a balk.

  • @chesalinko54 Nope. If the ball falls out of the pitching hand, it's a balk

  • @VonTrousers ..... if it doen't cross a foul line. If it crosses a foul line, then it's a ball.

  • @dave0mary Foul line has nothing to do with it. Per the MLB rules, it's a balk if "the pitcher, while touching his plate, accidentally or intentionally drops the ball." See MLB rules paragraph 8.05(k)

  • @VonTrousers It seems it would still be open to interpretation. A pitch is a ball delivered to a batter. It doesn't say behind the back or whatever. In this video, it could still be construed as a pitch as by definition. The precedent might be that - "that will always be a balk" in OBR. I do college and FED umping, and a dropped ball while touching the rubber is a balk unless it crosses a foul line. In that instance, it is a ball.

  • Comment removed

  • It's actually a "no pitch" because the ball did not cross the foul lines.

  • @awclemons If theres someone on base and the ball doesnt cross one of the foul line its a balk. if it does cross the line its a ball

  • "Rule 8.01(d) Comment: A ball which slips out of a pitcher’s hand and crosses the foul line shall be called a ball; otherwise it will be called no pitch. This would be a balk with men on base."

This ruling really needs to specify if this includes the wind-up. As it does not specify I will assume it does, and any wild pitch that doesn't reach the catcher is a balk.

  • @awclemons wrong. balk.

  • @hbkdfw you mean like the guy before you said.

  • Balk, lol. Easy, once he drops the ball it becomes a balk.

  • @syxrzacm nah its just a ball cause he started his motion and began the process of throwing the ball. if he was standing on the rubber looking for signs and dropped the ball, it would be a balk

  • @delaliom It's a balk b/c it didn't cross the foul line with runners on base. If it did, then it would be a ball.

If no runners on base, it would be nothing. Not even a ball. It has to cross the foul line to be called a pitch.

Rule 8.01(d) Comment states this very clearly.
