Yeah, Snow randomly showing up really puts a damper on the game. A Square Enix PR said Snow's jacket is his weapon. Its made from technology that Team Nora and Snow stole from the Sanctum. Its suppose to give Snow special abilities (Like the anti gravity device on lighting's thumb).

I hope tats just for demo purposes because that seems real stupid. It was passable to not see all your characters in the field in the old days when the system hardware couldnt do it, but it seems like the team in this game are split up at times for story purposes and Snow just coming out like that when he's supposed to be somewhere else far away on another mission would be real weird
