Usually when people want to make comments of your "high calibar" it's because they are trying to compensate for their own inadequateness. It's easy for you and others to come here and hide behind your words and insult someone you don't know based off of how they look. Aretha has some serious issues if you know her history. She's had alot of loss & sorrow. We just need to lift her up in prayer. I personally feel it would have been great service to her having some form of counseling throughout life. If she did in fact have it, she should perhaps get a refund because by now she should have had some "breakthroughs" including conquering her obvious food addiction. But you just got to love her anyway.

It is possible to be thick and healthy. many times its not just weight bearing on our heart, but emotional trauma as well. Most physical illness start in the mind. We don't hear about everything famous people go through. But nonetheless, she still gets on stage even though people like you talk about her weight.

I am a life long fan of Aretha Frankllin. I comment on her weight because I love her and care about her health. I am now a Registered Nurse and educator. Most of us adults know how unhealthy it is to be overweight.. It contributes to a whole host of health issues such as diabetes and hypertension. I am also well aware that emotional trauma may be contributing to Aretha's weight problem. She needs help and not someone who will stand by and watch her kill herself with food.

I couldn't believe how good she looked..She bounced around on stage for an hour and a half. I was so shocked and happy. She has lost a lot of weight. believe me. She looks fantastic
